Front desk was very helpful. Room was clean, breakfast was pretty good. The pool was refreshing and the hot tub was relaxing. We would stay here again. Its in the middle of everything we needed.
Stayed for a hockey tournament. Great rooms, breakfast and staff. Close to arena, shopping and dining. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Just gross. I understand that when you book a hotel room for a reasonable price, you may not have all amenities but one of those should, at the VERY LEAST, be cleanliness. I have been staying here on and off for the past couple months and after this weekend stay, I will never stay here again. I complained to management before this review about a previous stay so, TWO STRIKES YOU'RE OUT. It's dirty, I barely slept all weekend because it just feels gross. Bed sheets are not changed and that's been obvious. Carpet is stained and feels gross, you can tell staff does not vacuum underneath furniture. I found garbage under the TV. Dust all over the cords under the nightstand table. Room smelled weird. Staff is rude. I have heard from other hotels that they're understaffed and have been going downhill for the past year now, but that's no excuse for a dirty room. Management needs to step up and ensure these room are clean for guests, even if that means they have to do it themselves. I will literally never stay here again. Let me save you now, spend the extra $20-$30 and go stay at the AmericInn. They're always clean, rooms are very comfortable, staff is nice and helpful.
Great experience. Clean rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff, ample parking, easy to access
This is a great place for the economy price range - pet friendly - 4 stars. I needed something basic, cheap, and pet friendly for a Thursday night. Of the dozen or so pet friendly places in Grand Rapids, this was 1 of 3 under 100 bucks. And Country Inn is BY FAR the nicest. Based on photos and comments on the internet, the other 2 looked like total dumps that should probably be visited by the Itasca County Health Department soon. Amazingly, my big Mastiff and I got a really nice room with 2 queen beds for an out-the-door price of only 93 bucks! Everything in our room was nice, modern, and super clean. My room had a 42 inch flat screen with Direct TV. The bathroom was fully stocked, clean, and functional. They have 2 floors - steps only - no elevator. They have other amenities too: a pool, a jacuzzi, a basic continental breakfast setup, a small coin laundry room, a little internet computer kiosk, and a workout area (I didn't checkout this one). The pool area was closed. Actually, I was really happy about the closed pool because my room was right next to it. I needed peace & quiet so my big doggy and I could get some shuteye. One note about the people: the staff were ALL very, very nice. Amazingly, the guests were all nice too. I ran into a bunch of them every time I walked out the room with my 130 pound dog for an outdoor potty break. She's a great way to start conversations and meet new friends. My only bitch about this place is they don't take cash. This is purely for the convenience of the corporation and not for the convenience of customers whatsoever. I guess if you don't have a stupid Visa or Mastercard, you're assed out. I have one but I'm not interested in making a bank card company any richer or taking a chance of getting hacked. I've never been hacked or robbed with cash. But it has happened to me many times with cards, especially while traveling. My greenbacks say "for all debts, public and private" but I guess the Radisson Corporation feels they can completely ignore legal US currency. I don't think I could have done any better for less than 100 bucks on a week day. Thumbs up! - Maxx P.S. My phone has been blowing up with hotel marketing robo calls since I was a guest at Country Inn (Radisson). Since I haven't been to a hotel in several years, I suspect my cell number was sold by these guys for marketing purposes. I highly recommend that you only provide a fake phone number (oops!) when you check in...unless you have a really good spam blocker app on your phone.
