CK Hair Design in Salinas, CA

Not sure why Yelp says this is closed, it is not. I just moved to Creekbridge and I went here to see if I could get my hair done for my family photos. I showed them a picture and they said yes they could do it. So I made an appointment, I came in and the lady was very nice and talkative, I showed her the picture and she said yes she could do it. 20 minutes into it I knew she could not, I wanted volume and pretty big wavy curls. She was just curling it and adding a ton of hairspray. I waited until the end and it was hard curls, no volume at all. I was so dissapointed, if they could not do it why did they say they could? I literally messed up my hair with my hands to show her I wanted volume and just left. I could have done a better job at home. I also realized I messed up going here because as I was getting my hair done, ALL the clientele was men and little boys getting there hair cuts. This is a barber shop.

I bought gift certificates from Christina (owner) and misplaced them. I found them and called CK Hair Design and spoke to manager asking if I could use these gift certificates. I explained that I had misplaced them and would like to use them. The gift certificates are from CK Hair Design and have no expiration date. The owner didn't speak very good English at all! The new owner told me I could not use the certificates and when I asked why, she HUNG UP ON ME! What kind of salon is this? The OWNER/MANAGER was very rude! Wish Christina was still the owner/manager.

Anybody know what happened to christina? She did my hair for about 8 years and I moved out of the area. I came back about 6 months ago, went by the salon and the new management refuse to tell me where she is now. It's very upsetting, if anyone knows where she may be I will travel to her. I really loved the way she did my hair. From the looks of it the new management isn't favored.

I don't know why it says this place is closed. But when I went to get my hair done about three months ago It was open even though it says on here that it's closed. I went in for highlights and a haircut Lilia one of the hairstylist gave me a great deal of $120 for the two services although the price varies depending on your hair length. I have brunette hair and my hair was at least six inches past my shoulders, but I would suggest making an appointment. Lilia gave me beautiful silky hair for my first time getting highlights I loved it definitely coming back for my next haircut & color.

Ive been coming here for years, I pretty much don't know any better around Salinas. however, I only get my hair and waxing done by Christina, I don't trust anyone else. I was about to give 5 stars until I remembered this experience(s): Cheistina was busy so an assistant washed and blow dried my hair. The wash was good, except her nails were digging into my scalp. The blow drying... OUCH! She kept the drier on certain parts of my head for too long, it started hurting! It also seemed like she did not know hw to straighten other people's hair, she pulled too hard and sometimes pulled my hair out. Not too mention, she couldn't see my very obvious natural parting of my hair. YIKES! ONLY CHRISTINA!
