Went to Sara's Salon here. Wow. She is a hair guru. Funny, kind and fantastic at hair. I went to another place the day before it was a train wreck I was referred here. I could not be happier. I waked out and heard the wow sirens go off! Sara Baker is the best. Go there.
I bought a Groupon for a full color, cut, and style with Claudia Alvarado at the Frisco location. One hour before my appointment, she cancelled via text saying she had a family emergency. I understand people have family emergencies, so I kindly asked her when she could reschedule. A day later, she texted me and asked if I could come in a little over a week from then, a Sunday at 4:00p.m. I agreed, although I was disappointed because I wanted my hair done for a work event, and it wouldn't be done in time by waiting the week. The next Saturday at 7:30 p.m., she texted me and asked if I could come in at 11:30 instead of 4:00 the next day. Again, I agreed and gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she's not always that unprofessional. The next day I show up at the salon at 11:22. The doors are locked, so I texted her. No response. At 11:28 I call her. She says she's not there yet and has me type in a code on a directory outside of the salon several times before she let me in from her phone. I go in and sit in the lobby to wait. 10 minutes later, she texts me and said to come in the building. I told her I was in the lobby, and she says she doesn't see me. She never came in the lobby. She must have used a back door. So I walk back to her salon area, and she just asks what I want done. She didn't apologize or ask me how I was or anything. I told her what I wanted, and she told me it would be $40 extra for my color because she has to bleach it. I told her I usually color my own hair without bleach and have no problem, but if she can't do it, she could just do the lightest blonde and I will tone it myself at home. Still, she told me she can't do it, and that my hair would be brassy and "not cute." I explained again that I would tone it myself, but she just kept saying I needed to pay more and then commented on my thick hair. She then brought up how I couldn't get a refund on Groupon even if I wanted to-I could only get a credit, and that she only gets 50 percent of what I paid on Groupon. At that point, I tell her I will get a refund even if it is a credit and calmly express that my whole interaction with her has been a hassle. Her response was that the doors are always locked on Sundays and that family comes first, that's why she rescheduled the first time. She was unapologetic and didn't bring up that she rescheduled a second time and was late to my appointment. She was rude and completely unprofessional. She didn't want to be there and just wanted more money. Maybe she shouldn't have offered Groupons if she wanted full price payment. This is my first review EVER. Claudia was so rude and unprofessional that I had to warn people. I will be informing Groupon as well.
