Changes Hair Studio in Seattle, WA

Honestly, I chose this studio the first time solely due to the convenient location the day I needed a haircut. I looked at the reviews and there were quite a few negative ones and a few positive ones. I decided to give it a try anyway and now I drive out of my way to make it to this salon. I've never done a very thorough job of communicating (or even really knowing) what I want my hairstyle to look like, but Tony has been the best communicator I've ever experienced and does an outstanding job. He's a real professional. I always walk away feeling like I look like a rockstar.

It was a very expensive haircut. The guy that cut my hair didn't even comb my hair and just chopped it up. Uneven in the front and the back. I don't know what to say besides it was rushed haircut and now I need to go somewhere else to get it fixed.

It really is my fault because I cheated on my hair dresser but I was impatient. I went in for a simple cut. Tony was incredibly nice but had no idea what he was doing. I sat in the chair and explained that my hair was badly damaged. I only wanted a long bob keeping as much length as possible but making sure it was all healthy (my split ends were terrible and this was my first cut in years!). Tony then asked "How short can I go?". I showed him and very explicitly said "here AT THE SHORTEST) and he STARTED there! Also, side note, when cutting a bob, WHO STARTS IN THE FRONT??? I don't think this is common practice but I was "patient" because "What do I know?" Afterwards, I looked in the mirror and it was completely choppy. The back was long, the front was short. There was no blending. I asked him to fix it and he tried but it was getting shorter and shorter. I paid. I left. I cried. I called my hair dresser and went in for a second cut the same day and paid half the amount plus a generous tip for getting me back together. I know that it's just hair and that it'll grow back but this was such a traumatic experience. I never intended to CUT CUT my hair. I only wanted it to be healthy with as much length as possible. I did a big chop in 2017 and decided I'd never go short again but Tony had other plans for me I guess.

Haven't had a haircut in awhile specially due to Covid. I felt very at ease at Changes. My temperature was taken, my hands were sprayed with sanitizer, and the salon was clean and wiped down. Tony did an excellent job. My hair feels so soft and smooth. He took his time and I am highly satisfied with his work.

Tony is awesome. He really loves his job, and it shows. He'll give you what you ask for, and is experienced (20+ years) and passionate enough about hair to make recommendations to make your haircut look even better for your face shape. He's super flexible with scheduling and is often available on short notice, which is perfect for me and my life. He also works fast and is super efficient -- a regular haircut can be in and out in 20 minutes. Changes Hair Studio is such a hidden gem, very affordable for the Seattle area, and you should totally go here.
