CARMEN! CARMEN! Prestige Salon Spa at Belk in Durham, NC

A nice comfortable Aveda salon conveniently located in Belk's.  I've gone to several stylists there over a period of about 15 years, all good, with different strengths, depending on what you need.  I've found Ruhiyyih to be talented and fun and good with color.  Exhibit A:  Ruhiyyih curled these curls and took the picture!  And Lori Hobbs seems thoughtful and meticulous and as though she puts real effort into haircuts and styling.  The receptionists are helpful and nice.  It's on the expensive side, but generally worth it.

Had an amazing haircut by Herbert! He is so talented and has so much experience. I wanted my hair style to have lots of layers and volume and he created a masterpiece I am so impressed and love my hair!  He also gave me great advice on ways I can style and blow dry my hair. I loved the tips and tricks that I will use on a daily basis! I received so many compliments!  Absolutely love my new hairstyle, will be booking my next appointment with Herbert!

I have been getting my hair done here for 9 years!!! I have seen quite the host of stylists but absolutely love Jennifer Cheek and Lori Hobbs.  They both do such a great job and listen to what I want while also being practical as to what my hair is going to look like and explain things thoroughly.  Keri, the regional manager is awesome as well! She is also super nice to every guest that walks into the salon.  You can tell she takes pride in her salon and her team.  Awesome salon, I recommend them to everyone!!!

I absolutely love this salon. From the hot tea to the excellent services. First let me say, I am an avid Aveda product consumer.  I interchangeably use the Damage Remedy, Dry Remedy, Brilliant and Smooth Infusion products.  While shopping at the Aveda store, the sales consultant recommended Jennifer at Carmen! Carmen! for a dry cut/trim.  I have been returning ever since my initial visit. Jennifer is amazingly precise. I have naturally coarse, curly, textured hair which I love, and Jennifer knows just how to handle it.  If you are in the market for a stylist, please check out Jennifer at Carmen! Carmen! Southpoint.  She will not disappoint!

The price point is slightly higher than other salons. There are "add on" prices for certain products/services. I still reccomend the salon, Jennifer and products!

This was my first visit to this salon. I went for a hair cut and my stylist was Jennifer. She is amazing and was great at understanding what hair style I wanted and did an excellent job. I am glad I found my go to stylist for hair cuts.

The second visit was not the same. I went in to get my sidebands cut short to replicate the first visit and it was terrible. Had to go in again to another stylist there to adjust my hair so it won't look as bad. Scarred me enough to not go there again.
