Body & Soul Salon & Day Spa in Denver, CO

I went to Body & Soul today for a consultation and trim. Alicia helped me a lot. We went over care tips and techniques as well as product suggestions. I feel confident returning to this salon for future care and eventually for my big chop, which is going to be a huge step. I feel safe taking this step here.

Since moving to Colorado from Chicago I've been lookin for a hairdresser that knows what they are doing. The first year here was spent going all over Colorado to different black owned salons to do my hair. A lot of places lack the professionalism that business should have. Not showing up or just doing a sloppy job altogether. Then I finally found Body and Soul. Alicia was my hairdresser and I have never been happier. She knows hair. The entire staff is more than capable to handle any hair issue you may have. If you want someone who knows hair and cares about your hair concerns or you're just looking for a salon with high professional standards, this is the place for you.
For all my black sisters out there, if you're looking for a black owned salon that can do anything you may need; go to Body and Soul. You will not regret it.

This place is amazing.  Not only are they kind and professional, but they go above and beyond  what's expected to make sure you are happy. I have super curly hair and Alicia knew what products to use and explained to me how do the upkeep and apply products later on my own. They are all exceptional with black hair care but I saw a wide range of clientele so anyone can come here and be taken care of. It's clean and cozy. My hair looks super fly! Thank you. Oh and she served me delicious cake and beverages complimentary . I see she does  nails as well and is rated one of the best nail technician in Colorado. I'll be be back to try that service too. So glad to have found a great reliable beautician .

I had the opportunity to work with Nikita, who is very spectacular. I went in for a consultation, where I showed her the extent of damage from my trichotillomania. I was ready to do the big chop, however, she let me know that a big chop would show the damage because my hair follicles have yet to regenerate. Instead she convinced me to do an up-do and she hid the bald spot very well. I am very grateful because I was able to get up and go and not worry about my hair. And there was no pulling out of hair strands because of the style she put the hair up in. Its nice and perhaps this is a step toward managing this disorder.

The location is 8 minutes from my house and the pricing is average (moderate to pricey) The price will increase with special treatments. Yet the stylist will tell you upfront or you can plan ahead on what type of treatments you will receive and the end price. Please budget accordingly and tip. Each stylist is an independent contractor and you will pay them directly or swipe using a card reader attached to their phone.

They are all very nice.

Try to schedule when they are not super duper busy because the shop is small and homey. I like it. It nice to find a diamond in the rough for Black Hair.

So it's taken me a minute to write this review because I've been misguided before visiting other salons. I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that I have found a rare gem within this shop!! I love the ambience of the place and the friendly greetings and conversations it is truly a great time. Above all else I have the best hairdresser hands down! Nikita is awesome and a delight to come in contact with. You have to give this place a shot I promise you will not be disappointed!!
