Beehive Salon in Duxbury, MA

First, it's very hard to find a stylist that will actually listen to what you want and.. actually do it. Unfortunately, I struck out this time. She did the opposite of what I asked for. I recently moved to Duxbury and needed a hair stylist. The receptionist scheduled me with Danielle for a haircut. She was very friendly and seemed like she was listening to me when I showed her a picture of a long bob with a long wavy front and a lot of short beautiful layers in the back with a dramatic slant . I told her straight off because my hair is long (was..) that it was.. very very ...important to me that the front be below my collarbone. I touched my chest and showed her where I wanted it ,..BELOW..my collarbone. She said ok. Her first time snipping through it was much shorter, ...to my shoulders , ABOVE my collarbone. I shrieked inside but told myself well, it's already done so I can live with it. At least it's (not above my shoulders). Which I hate. I detest my hair floating above my shoulders like a bobble head. The problem was she kept going front to back pulling hair up and snipping a tiny bit more and a tiny bit more and a tiny bit more and a tiny bit more. She stopped halfway to rinse another client and when she came back she went over the left side... once more, totally leaving out the right side. I even a sqeemed and said to her.. pleeease.. no more from the front. I think she forgot where she left off. I asked for the mirror and there was barely a slant from the front to the back and no pretty layers in the back. It was like a bowl cut. I'm not lying... I'll add a photo. I had to ask for more from the back to at least have some slant. Anyways... I ended up with bobble head hair and a very generic version of the picture I showed her. This is not personal , I believe Danielle was a very friendly person, but I am not at all pleased with my hair. It's in my nature to just grin and bare it. I even tipped her, but after getting home and seeing my hair closely I have been stewing over this. I will now have to use the pandemic time to try to grow my hair back out to at least touch below my shoulders. Uuuggh!

Always a great experience at Beehive! Professional & friendly staff, clean salon, cool atmosphere and they always work to accommodate appointments. Cuts, colors, and blow outs I have never left unhappy. So happy to have found a salon that I love so close to home!

This salon is fabulous. Melissa and all of the other stylists are great. I just went to change my color slightly and Melissa did an outstanding job!! I love it there and would recommend highly to everyone!!!

I followed Danielle from a salon in Hanover. Danielle is my girl for my unruly hair. That said due to my need to change my schedule I have had others help with my appointments and everyone has been fabulous. I go frequently to avoid being gray and I see everyone's work, they all make everyone look beautiful. If Danielle is on vacation or not available I'd be comfortable with anyone else due to what I've seen. Lastly, the pulse of this place is professional yet warm, all ages of clients are welcomed happily. I would highly recommend. This place blows doors on that big place in Hanover where Danielle came from, happy she moved here!

Love this salon! Very busy, but with a youthful, friendly vibe. Sue, the owner, cuts and colors my rather difficult hair, and seems to enjoy and meet the challenge every time. I watch as she oversees her stylists, and she is nothing but kind and professional with them too. I am new to the South Shore, and it has taken me awhile to find the right person, but I'm so glad I finally have! Plan to be a long-term customer.
