I am in love with this salon. Conveniently located on the corner of Haywood and Mildred Ave, they have a parking lot behind the building. The salon will text a code for free parking the day of your appointment. They still keep the front door locked for security and to limit contact, but they have removed the required mask requirements. Finally!

I found them during the pandemic, when I desperately needed a haircut. The girl who initially cut my hair no longer works there, but every stylist is incredibly talented. I take both of my kids to get their hair cut, and we have zero complaints. And the price? Amazingly affordable. I can't remember the last time I paid under $50 to get my hair done, so this salon is a pleasant discovery. I will continue to go there for as long as I live in Asheville!

I hate to do this but I feel I need to warn others before booking here. I hadn't been in before and read really good reviews so I scheduled with Hannah. Upon arriving, you have to text so they can let you in. I don't know if I was the last client in her day or if she was rushed, but I was barely greeted and directed to a chair. I told her what I wanted and that my hair is very fine, and also asked about washing it (every single place I've ever been to washes my hair first before cutting). She told me she'd cut and then wash after, and I let her do her thing. I didn't feel that she was up for much more inquiry, so I felt like I annoyed her. She was quiet which is fine, but don't expect to have much conversation if that's what you're into while getting a hair cut. I wanted some length off which she did, but then she started thinning my hair. I didn't realize while it was happening because I haven't had it done before, but she used shears that pulled pretty aggressively at my hair. It seemed damaging more than anything, but I trusted her and let her continue. No one has ever thinned my hair before because I have thin hair already, so the thinning shears were foreign to me. I had asked what they did while she was using them and she said they help the layers blend. I googled it when I got home and they were thinning shears.

She used a couple different sprays without telling me what they were so I can't give much detail there, but they were extremely strong and made me cough. I came home and rinsed my hair to try and get rid of it, which is when I noticed how thin my hair was. Yes, I got length off, but I've had it even shorter in the past, and have never felt like I had such little hair until now.

Hannah, I'm sure you're wonderful usually and maybe I caught you on an off day, but please please ask clients before thinning their hair. Even with the sprays and stuff, I would have let that go without thought, but I'm pretty devastated at how sparse I feel my hair is now, and I was already self conscious about it being naturally fine.

Danielle Brindle! Amazing, experienced hair artist. I came in damaged, over processed and broken. Her talent and magic did the trick. I loved her work. She took her time and really put thought into what she was going to do to correct and make my hair look better. She nailed it. Wonderful to work with, amazing experience and amazing talent. Although I live 3 hours away, I will make the trip to keep coming back. Her price was fair to the time I spent in her chair. I was the only person in her chair for 4 hours. The salon has a very pretty ambiance and was a comfortable place to sit. They gave me a code to pay for parking which was very convenient!
Also bonus. My husband told me that this was the best my hair has looked in years! So win.

I had a great experience with Shelby! I was treating my mom to a haircut for her birthday. She was so patient and discussed various options with my mom, and even took it a step further to provide hair maintenance and styling tips. We were the last customer of the day but didn't seemed rushed and still received all-around amazing service. The finished result looked beautiful and we are so glad we found her!

It isn't that great of an idea to allow people to book a bleach online with no consultation.
I booked a bleach and color, described the exact condition of my hair and the color I wanted in the notes, and never heard from anyone at the salon until the day of my appointment. I assumed that this meant they had the time and resources to do what I wanted, and that it was possible with the color I had at the time. When I arrived my stylist told me she "did not have time" to bleach and color my hair, but could color it "approximately how I wanted."
I agreed, assuming that we were on the same page and that we would eventually get it to the bleach/lavender shade I wanted. The color that I got was an absolutely not what I asked for, nor was it a start to my end goal. I had to remind my stylist and ask her how I would eventually get what I asked for. She told me that I would have to book multiple highlighting appointments to slowly lift the color that she just put in out of my hair. I understand multiple sessions for the sake of my hair and preferred that, but I assumed we were beginning this process that day. I don't understand why you would purposefully put dye in someone's hair that you would then have to book over five sessions to lift out. I had hair that was 100x closer to my goal before she dyed it. I paid $160 for a color that I did not want, and did not know would make it more difficult to eventually have lavender. I now have a maroon/burgundy color that will be impossible to lift.

I've gone to another stylist who has told me that I now have to wait for my hair to grow out completely before I am able to start bleaching. My experience here has made this entire journey cost hundreds of dollars more than it originally would have and damaged my hair more in the long run. If someone had contacted me before my first appointment or scheduled a consultation, this would have been avoided.

I have seen so many people with wonderful results from this salon and I know that it works wonderfully for many other people. I understand that sometimes things are lost in communication but when you are dealing with such large sums of money and projects like this, there was no miscommunication, just a complete lack of on the salon's part.
