Arthur Sebastian Hair Salon in San Francisco, CA

I met Arthur after the pandemic and I feel like I experienced a true transformation in the look and feel of my hair. I was experiencing a true hair-crisis post-highlighting, where, no matter what I did, my hair felt dry, brittle and unmanageable. I even contemplated giving up highlighting altogether. Then, I met Arthur... He was very passionate about his work and confident in the end result. His passion was inspiring and the results spoke for themselves. With Arthur's expert coloring and hair treatment methods my dry and brittle hair once again regained its softness and hydration. I did not have to give up my highlights. I love my color and my haircuts and I recommend Arthur for his high quality artist work.

I couldn't be happier with the quality of service that Arthur Sebastian provides in his hair salon. His knowledge and expertise have been excellent with regard to my hair and advising me on the type of hair products I should be using for my fine "fly-away" hair. My hair has been much more manageable since I started going to him. I recommend him very highly.

I've been going to Arthur for as long as I've lived in SF after moving here from NYC, and I will for as long as he is here. Haircuts from Arthur are always perfect and grow out nicely for months. He recently put in blue highlights (I have dark hair) and did an incredible job, it still looks fantastic 3 months later. He blended the roots which I'd never seen before and the attention to detail shows. There's really no one else like him around, very highly recommend!

Worst haircut I've had in 25 years -- and possibly ever. That was the first time I left a salon looking worse than when I arrived. I brought to the appointment a binder with multiple photo examples to illustrate exactly what I wanted for a layered cut and tapered bangs. What Arthur Sebastian gave me, though, was mostly a straight cut taking off some length, and bangs that were cut straight across, instead of tapered down to my cheekbones. How hard could that have been to do?! Truly astounding that the final result was so wildly off the mark. To add insult (literally) to injury, he threw shade at an award-winning and prestigious SF salon I had patronized years earlier. He scoffed and rolled his eyes when I mentioned their name. The only thing he did right was to avoid chopping off too much length. Bottom line: under-performed and overcharged. UPDATE: I appreciate that the salon owner (Arthur Sebastian) responded quickly to my review and did the correct P.R. thing in offering to make things right. However, unless he is offering a full refund + tip for my visit (over a year ago), I don't see how he can make things right. There is no way I would ever let him touch my hair again. I'm finally growing it out and searching for a different salon. In fact, I don't even want the refund. I've moved on. And, BTW, Arthur, "Camellia" is my Yelp alias; I did not register under that name so that's why you can't find it in your database. I also didn't mention in my original review that you did not abide by the CoViD protocols listed on your website. That was one of the factors I took into consideration in choosing your salon. You are fortunate to (apparently) have so many satisfied customers. Perhaps you have found your niche. Unfortunately, I did not fit into it.

Arthur is great! Professional, detail oriented, and efficient. Everything I could want in a haircut experience. I've been a repeat customer and he has given me great haircuts each time!
