Amy's Salon in Phoenix, AZ

I called Wed morning, hoping to get an appt sometime this week. Kim offered to let me come in that same evening! The salon is not a luxury spa, but it's convenient if you in the Central area. Kim was really great, listening to what I wanted and asking questions, stopping along the way to make sure I was happy with how she was cutting. She also mentioned that I should come back if I had any concerns afterwards. I was very happy with how she treated me and how my hair looked. I will definitely be back!

While I've only been here several times, Kim already treats me like family. I've been to quite a few salons, and Kim's work on my cut and highlights is simply the best! Her salon is not fancy, but it's in a good location if you live in Central Phoenix like me. She is always more than fair with her pricing, in fact under- charging me rather than over-charging!

Kim is amazing. I'd never colored my hair before and she was so helpful. The color turned out beautiful.

The salon isn't fancy, but Kim is an experienced professional who will make your hair look beautiful. I've gone to posh salons for years, but I'll be going back to Kim. Gorgeous, rich color, a great haircut, and a sleek blowout for half the price. And Kim is a delight!

I realize this is a long review. If you don't want to read the whole thing here's a basic overview. Unprofessional stylist who doesn't listen to the client. Decent cutting skills just dont expect anything other than a haircut without an extra charge. I purchased a Groupon for Amy's salon. The Groupon states haircut and style with conditioning. I got a haircut no style cause it would "take too long" . I was told I had too long of hair and too thick of hair to style or to condition.I wasn't told or asked about length of hair and how it would affect my serv. I have gone to professional salons and payed about the same price with a condition and style. As soon as I pulled up I was a little iffy. Salon isn't in the greatest area but I decided to give it a whirl anyway, hey I payed for this. She started by brushing out my curls and cut my hair dry. I asked her about the conditioning treatment since she went straight to cuttingand she explained I had too much hair and that she would charge extra. I said the Groupon clearly stated a condition but whatever I passed. I have never had my hair cut dry before. I asked her to cut my hair in a v with my front hair a little shorter and my back/ middle the longest point. All she did was cut a little hair in the front so it looks like I have grown out bangs, not very attractive. As the haircut went on I asked her why she cut my hair dry and she said because it was how my curls left my hair to hang. I let her know I frequently style and asked her how it'll look when I straighten it. She hesitated and said we will check it after she washed it. After my wash I didn't get a style because again I had too much hair and it would take too long. Every explanation she deceived included "it's just business". I've never been to a salon that didn't at least style my hair after a haircut. I'll stick to upscale salons.
