Allen L Salon in St Paul, MN

I've been to Allen several times over the past few years since living in St. Paul. His cuts have always been on point and quick and even at a great price for the quality of cut you're getting. He's cut mine while is was both long and short and it always turns out great. Plus he's just a nice guy. Cash only, but there's a wells Fargo across the street. Will definitely continue going to Allen for as long as I'm in the area and he's cutting hair!

We live in California and my first appointment when we land is with Allen. He works fast and efficiently. Highly recommended whether you're looking for the classic corporate cut or something with style.

I've been going to Allen Salon since moving to the Twin Cities 4 years ago. Even after I moved away from Grand Ave, I still drive all the way across town to have Allen cut my hair because he's that good. He's incredibly careful and consistent and very professional. Allen does extremely high quality work at a reasonable price and it's nice to be able to support a small local business.

A no BS haircut at a reasonable price. Allen takes pride in his work; making people happy is what has kept him doing this for 11 years. I'll be going back.

This is absolutely the very best experience that I have had for absolutely ages. I am not sure if I will be able to do justice to Allen L Salon, but I am going to try. I had had a hair cut from a well-reputed hair salon in Roseville only about 4 weeks ago. I had been very disappointed with that experience, having asked for a particular hair cut and come out with something totally different. It is true that my history may put off some. I have brain cancer, have had 3 craniotomies in the past 2 years or so, that have left my head looking a little bit of a mess. I have lost the feeling of being a woman largely due to the repeated hospitalizations/treatment, and had wanted to try and regain "me" a bit. Today, having found Allens' details from a previous Yelp review, I thought, that it was unlikely to be particularly successful, but that I would give him a go, to try and restore a little bit of who I am. As soon as I arrived, I felt at home. When Allen asked what I was looking for, he started helping by providing really interesting hair cuts from some books that were available. He asked me all sorts of questions, none of which I had been previously asked. And from there, it was absolutely the most wonderful experience that I have honestly ever had in recent history. The hair-cut, as it was developing, started to take my breath away. It was beyond anything that I had ever imagined. It was interesting to learn that Allen had first learned in China, then the USA, and had studied all sorts of techniques. The confidence and expertise that Allen used today, in providing me with a hair cut, that has taken years off me, and that has given me a totally new beginning, feeling fabulous for the first time in I cannot remember, is something that I think I will treasure always. What a great small local business to support - such a gem in St Paul. None of the gimmicks that other bigger salons buy into - just a fabulous hair experience from a good, kind, extremely competent person. Do note - if you decide to go, cash/cheque are the preferred method of payment. Also parking was so easy, very close, either on road or in a small parking lot very close.
