I was withdraw by the power of the East Hartford school because I came to talk to her and the supervisor about not being treated fairly and feeling some prejudice going on in the school and prejudice towards me because of my disability. When I came to that school, I told them I was disabled there was no problem. My disabilities weren't affecting me at the time as time progressed I wasn't able to braid or lift things I was told by the teacher that I was going to braid that everybody was going to braid after lunch I didn't have a choice. I left that day and went to my doctor. I was also told I was going to take out the trash I can't because of my arm I asked her if I could do something else , she said no so I went and said something they asked me for a meeting I reported everything I felt was going on even that I wasn't being taught that we would be standing there waiting for things to do. they said well as long as your not standnig for 6 hours they dismissEd everything I said including how other students were treated better and her doing her hair in class instead of teaching so they withdrew me I kept asking why they said I was making people uncomfortable and they weren't going to have me make accusations at their teacher they asked if I was the attorney for the Caucasian students so obviously they know something is wrong they told me to get the fuck out of her school she can't throw anyone out for any reason said what's amatter you can't get in any where which tells me she's telling places I actually called a school that said how do I know that name. she called the cops and humiliated me . when she said I could come I believe this was done on purpose this school violated my civil rights. how many others has this happened to.

SALON - I've been going here for many years.  The instructors recognize me.  I've only had one bad hair cut.  I JUST GOT THE WORST HAIRCUT EVER!!.   IT'S BEYOND HORRIBLE.   I was sobbing.  I asked for it to be cut shoulder length, so it touched the neckline of the shirt I was wearing.  I also have thick wavy hair with lots of volume.  The student cut it chin length.  It also sticks out and looks like Bozo (those of you from the Chicago area may remember)  (I wear glasses and had to take them off and since I can't see anyway, had my eyes closed most of the time).  She didn't consult the instructor until she was 1/2 way thru.  But when the instructor came over and I heard her say "shorter in the back and longer in the front", I said I HATE that style, so she gave different instruction and walked away.  She didn't come back until I asked for her.  And the instructor let me walk out looking horrible.

An instructor who knew me came over and said wow what inspired this change, it's a new look for you.  I said "nothing, I didn't ask for this, it's too short and I hate short hair".

My daughters reaction "what the hell did you do!!!"

I went home and played with it to see it I could do something.  NO.  I called them and the 2 instructors who recognized me agreed that it was not what I asked for, and was a bad cut for my hair type, and would try to fix it.  They tried thinning it out a little, and gave me some smoothing product to use.  But now I need to blow dry daily,   I wash every 3 days and only blow dry to get the wet out.  I usually just wash and go.

The way they tried to fix the situation and the very sincere apologies that I received, are worth giving them a try.  Just make sure the student is checking in regularly with an instructor and they consult with the instructor before touching your hair.

I was looking into cosmetology schools over the summer and fall. I found a website that tells you where ones are close by and they apparently send your information over to the schools to contact you. I was contacted multiple times a day, every day, via phone and never answered. I also was bombarded with email correspondence that I replied that I understood they had gotten my contact information and I was not interested in their school especially with all the spammy calls and emails. It took a month for them to get the hint.
