Zen Nails & Spa in Williamsville, NY

I'm updating my review because I've been to numerous salons since my horrible experience here. Every single one of them were able to do the services that I asked, and were more than accommodating. I've never felt so discriminated as I did at Zen nails. Other salons always try to find a way to make it work which I truly appreciate. This place is always busy, but that doesn't mean they do a great job or treat people with respect. I finally found a nail salon that we go back to often because they were so sweet, made sure I was comfortable in my wheelchair and even supported my arm to make sure they could do my nails well. It's all about Customer Service, and not discriminating somebody with a disability.

This is THE WORST SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! A language barrier is expected when getting a nail service. But my artist had 0 comprehension. I wanted a simple polish with red chrome for the holidays. What a F&$K!&@ nightmare. $62 later and terribly ugly nails I left in tears. The artist asked me to stay and fix them which I agreed and then the manager turned all the lights off. I just asked to leave. I called 3 days later to set an appointment - explained my situation to have the receptionist hand the phone to someone else and repeat myself. It's 2023z $60 for nails is a lavish investment and I take it seriously to be not only unsatisfied but disrespected too. Too HELL this this place!!!!

Nope. Never again. I waited to write this review because I was so upset that I didn't want to overdo it. I came here on 10/16/2023 as a walk in at 10am. I'm in the market for a new place so I decided to give this place a try. The technician who did my pedicure was nice. I was impressed by the materials they used and how nice the salon was. I knew that must be why the prices were so high. Their overhead must be unreal. Towels with the salon name embroidered on them and everything. She even used fresh sliced oranges to massage in the scrub from the upgraded pedicure package. But that's okay, I don't mind paying for higher quality products and service. At this point I was very impressed. The issue came with the second tech who did my manicure. She asked me how I liked my nails so I was telling her. I'm particular about my nails-- the shape, the style... etc. But I'm by no means a jerk about it. I simply know what I want and I ask for it. My nails are my thing. I love my nails, everyone loves my nails, I get compliments on my nails all the time. They're nothing spectacular they're just really nice. Anyway, I was telling her what I wanted-- my natural nails are nice and really healthy so I only want clear acrylic or some kind of clear overlay on top to strengthen them. I clean at work and it's rough on my nails. They'll break if they aren't reinforced. I also like my nails ballerina slipper shape. Basically they taper toward then ends and are squared off. But as I was explaining what I wanted she looked up, said something to the woman working at the next table, and the woman's head flew up and she stared at me with a look of shock on her face, and then they both laughed loudly and shook their heads. I'm not the kind of person who automatically thinks that just because someone is speaking another language they are talking about me. But it was clear in this instance they were. I didn't say another word the rest of the visit. I gave her a terrible tip of $5. I gave the other woman $15. With such a personal service like this the end result isn't all that matters. It's the whole experience, including how you feel when leaving. Not only did I end up having to get a colored polish on my nails because the material she used on my nails was so cloudy it looked terrible, but I had to file away polygel lumps along the edges of my nails that I noticed once I got home, my nails were more round than ballerina slipper (no tapering whatsoever), and I left feeling disrespected and offended. That's too many strikes. I will not go back.

First time here and I was able to book same day appointment for mani/pedi. It's a very cute place with a good atmosphere and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Their pedicure chairs are comfortable and for the first time ever, the water wasn't too hot! Nor were the towels (I got the Zen pedicure, which came with a scrub, hot towels and lotion massage). I was disappointed with the scrub and massage though- Linda was a bit rough and seemed like she was in a hurry. She was very fast but did a pretty good job (no free feet pics lol) Now for the manicure! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I think we got pretty close! She was rushing a bit and some of my nails started to sting (my right ring finger actually started to bleed a little bit). I got acrylic so maybe that's why they were stinging? Idk they still sting a little now as I write this, which it's been an hour since I left. Anyway, Linda's shaping is on point, especially for how fast she was going. Overall, I love how my nails look- just wish it didn't feel so rushed and my nails didn't hurt.

Quick service for walk-ins, and quality gel manicures/pedicures. Great local spot. Clean!
