Yoni Kreger Salon in South Orange, NJ

I am so happy to have found this new salon. As a wheelchair user, it can be very difficult to find an accessible salon in an easy to navigate area. Yoni did a fantastic job cutting my hair, and was incredibly kind and pleasant throughout. The woman at the front desk were also cheerful and polite, and their payment system is so easy. On top of all of that, the salon is very clean and stylish. I will definitely be coming back!

I hate to write a bad review based on a first time experience at this salon but I had such a horrific experience, I felt compelled. TLDR version- Lilly butchered my hair! I received a complimentary haircut coupon in the mail when I moved to the area and booked a haircut with Lilly. Because I got a free cut, I figured I would treat myself to a dye as well since I normally do it myself. My hair is extremely long, as you can see in my photo. I've been growing it out for years and especially for my wedding in a few months. I asked Lilly for a simple trim- and we agreed on about 1 inch of length to come off. I also asked her to clean up my existing layers and keep the style pretty much the same. She applied my dye and I thought things were going ok until she started cutting my hair. She cut and styled very quickly and showed me the back of my hair- not a layer in sight. She had cut straight across and got rid of my existing layers. So I asked if she could put some layers back in. I don't know what happened then, but the next time she showed me my hair one side was 2 inches shorter than the other. I pointed it out and she apologized and went to even it out and she kept chopping away. When i turned around next I saw that I lost almost 6 inches of length in the back of my hair and I couldn't believe it. I almost broke down in tears and paid $135 for my dye and left as quickly as possible. When I got home and saw the full result, I contacted management and asked for a refund for the appointment. Not only had I lost years of growth, but the ends were totally choppy and uneven, like a child cut it. I knew I'd have to go have my cut corrected elsewhere. On top of that I'll now need to get extensions for my wedding which I was not planning to do. The manager called me and offered that the owner fix the cut (which I declined as I'd rather go elsewhere) *UPDATE- The salon manager refunded me for the appointment after I followed up with her and posted this review, which I appreciated, they were professional about it. However I had to get my hair corrected elsewhere and the stylist was in shock at the cut and I had to lose several more inches to even it out overall, lost 6-7 inches of length

I have had my highlights done here by Angelica three times and I always love the results! She gets the color and placement right every time. She also doesn't mind wearing a mask which I really appreciate as someone with a newborn at home. The salon itself is really beautiful too. She did my highlights just before my baby shower and I received so many compliments. Highly recommend!

I've gone to Angelica a few times now for partial and full highlights and she is hands down the best colorist I've ever been to. Each time the color is blended perfectly and grows out even better. I'm able to go 4 months between color and it still looks GOOD. My hair is also healthier than ever since I've been seeing her. As a bonus, she does an incredible wavy blowout too! Highly recommend.
