Best hair salon around. Betsy and Yahow are great and they make everyone feel right at home. My wife has been going to YAHOW's for quite some time and loves the care received. The salon is on East Valley Hwy., just south of 99 Ranch. It's situated in a red brick home that has been converted. Warm, cozy and loving atmosphere. Yahow is knowledgeable about so many things, especially foods, and can carry on a great conversation no matter the topic. I tag along with my wife just so I can converse with Yahow while she's getting her hair done. Make an appointment today. You won't be disappointed.

Here's how we ended up here the first time: The boy needed a haircut, and I wanted to cut hair. I've "cut" hair before - if cutting and then shaving someone's head counts. Anyway, I've seen it done. It doesn't look so hard. So why wouldn't I be able to do it? I'm smart. I'm detail-oriented. I'm a perfectionist. I should be able to give rocking haircuts. No, the haircut didn't turn out as well as I thought. First of all, I had to work with a pair of office scissors and a moving head. I cut the back (that went kind of well). Then I trimmed the right side, then the left side of his head. That's when I noticed the left was shorter, so I had to go back and trim more from the right. And vice versa (I'm sure you all can see where this is going.). Before I got to the point of no return (i.e. the point in which a shaved head was the only other option), I was stopped. After scouring the Internet, we realized that there were no haircut chains nearby. That's when I co-worker suggested Yahow and his wife, Betsy, who had a place about 5 minutes from our office. He called, and we got an appointment with Betsy for later that afternoon. I would have never found this place without assistance: it's a brick building located on a fairly busy street in Kent, across from the "Great Wall" Asian marketplace, and next to a shooting gallery. It really does look just like a house from the street, with large green trees covering it from the main street and a nice sized yard, perfect for a dog. Betsy is amazing. Not only did she fix my botched hair job, but she did a great job with styling (we're talking about a guy who has probably never heard of the word "style" in relation to physical appearance). We've gone back since, for haircuts for the both of us - always with great results. I've always been very satisfied leaving here. I've also purchased some great hair care products (shampoo, mostly) when I've left. The price of a wash and cut is very reasonable for a hair salon: The two of us run about $60 (tip included). The couple that runs the place is a pair of sweet Issaquah locals. They have a very loyal client base (which is why I suspect that there isn't much of a marketing effort), and they remember all their clients by name. I called today to schedule a hair appointment (we got every 3-4 months), and ended up on the phone for 10 minutes, catching up. It's kind of like Cheers (where everybody knows your name) - only for hair.
