Walmart Supercenter in Decorah, IA

Hello,

Today, while at the Decorah Walmart, I witnessed an employee dumping trash into a larger bin without changing the liners (which were nasty) and taking items out of the trash to reuse (gross)!  At one point, another staffer had to point out that a spray bottle this person pulled out of the trash was broken. Does cleanliness not matter?

I quit using the self checks outs because they were regularly dirty, and staff pulled bags / hangers out of the trash to reuse and the frequent attitudes of staff.

I will no longer patronize this store and will be talking to my husband about alternatives. Cleanliness needs to be a priority epically with the covid-19 and new fungus virus.

P.S. management who won't help, short tempered stockers do not help. This Walmart is a sinking ship just like the defective products they sneak on their shelves to try and sell.

What's not to love at Walmart anyway this place is gigantic very clean. Not sure if I have been in a Walmart as large as this one. This one has an entertainment center that is larger than any other Walmart I have been in. Everything is up to date and they even have staff people who actually know what they are talking about. Now that is refreshing for a change. The only downfall is that this one has a McDonalds instead of Subway.
The produce dept. which is of much interest to me is very large and well equipped as is the rest of the grocery area. If you can't find what you want then it doesn't exist.
Downfall is the waiting line at the checkouts. They have 13 checkout stands which are not in operation.

They have the most sophisticated and automated inventory tracking system in the world. Yet you are constantly out of stock on commonly used items. Just recently my flavor of 8 o"clock coffee whole bean was not replenished as well as "The works - bleach tabs".

Everytime my wife does her weekly shopping at this store they are constantly out of items which are common and popular.
I am starting to use Amazon shopping more and  more as a result.

I suspect they don't restock these items because they are trying to force their customers to buy the slower moving items.

I mean really? You can not keep these basic things in stock and yet you will have your Christmas stock out by October?

This is a very nice Walmart.  It is large and immaculately clean.  There is also a McDonald's on site.  With the exception of Customer Service not knowing when the vision center opens (and telling me the wrong time), they are helpful and accommodating.

When the question came up about camping in the lot with my camper van, they were very friendly and suggested parking toward the back of the lot but they do allow it.  The store is very close to Trout Run trail and the excellent fishing it provides.

I am glad I was able to visit.  This is an excellent location.

Coming from big cities always hate Walmart but in rural Iowa it is amazing.  So pristine and lacking of the ghetto slums of the big cities and the rednecks of the South.  You will see country folk milling around but harmless and safe.  You could really eat off the floor here that is how clean it is especially since they serve beer, wine, hard liquor and food there as well.
