Van Nails in Issaquah, WA

Been coming here for years. Stop by and try the new mani/pedi experience. Every detail was in place! My legs and feet felt spectacular and as always a beautiful polish.

Went in for a pedicure. Very un-relaxing environment! Small space with poor ventilation - gave me a massive headache! The staff would shout and argue with each other in Vietnamese- was a terrible environment that also worsened my headaches! I will not go back! I cannot recommend this place

I was in right away and my nails look great! However the experience was uncomfortable and disappointing. It was very loud and chaotic, it's a nail shop so I completely get it. However I had 3-4 people rotate during my nail services. One removed polish, one prepped and someone else polished during my mani and pedi. I've had people switch during services before but never this many times. I recognize they were busy so I just went with the flow. When it was time to pay I selected the 20% tip and the lady made it a point to be VERY loud so EVERYONE could hear that multiple people had worked on my nails so 40% is more appropriate. I felt bullied, shamed and it was down right shady. I didn't have a say with how they decided to rotate multiple people. I will not be going back. I'll stick to my other place.

I've been going to Van for 6+ years, since well before she took over at her current location and I have always been extremely happy with her service. I followed her from her former employer to her current salon on Gilman. That's how happy I am with her service. I used to do acrylics and pedicures regularly but then during covid lock down I was forced to give up my beloved acrylics which at the time, was very scary for me. Now I do regular manicure and pedicures and although it was hard to go without the acrylics during covid I have gotten used to the simple natural appearance of my nails so I'm not going back to acrylics any time soon. I rarely make an appt., preferring to walk-in as my schedule allows, sometimes I have to come back later that day if they are super busy or sometimes the next day but I have the flexibility to do that and without the acrylics, having to get in for an appt. is less urgent. Van always does exactly as I ask, she has never injured me despite a very challenging area of extra skin on my pinkie toe where she always has to spend extra time, and she is always concerned that I am happy with her service. (I had been injured on my fingers and toes multiple times at other salons around Issaquah before I discovered Van) Cash is king as always but she will take a cc if you absolutely must use a cc, consider adding an extra $2 for her cc service fee. Yes, her prices have risen but they have risen everywhere and nail salons and the lovely women who work there have to pay their bills too so be generous with your tipping and with your grace when sometimes met with language barrier or other cultural issues.

I've always wanted acrylic nails, but have been scared to pull the trigger. I finally felt up to it and called Van Nails to see if they could get me in, and I am so glad I chose them. I have now been visiting them religiously for just over two months. Every time I go, Van does the BEST nails and nail art, and Dao gives a FABULOUS pedicure. They are both so sweet and I never feel pushed to go out of my comfort zone. I take awful pictures of my nails, but have been in love with with every single set that I have gotten. They do fantastic work juggling the continuous inflow of customers, and they always make me feel like a valued customer. If you are looking for a manicure, pedicure, or both, go to Van Nails!
