they charge a tool fee and was told it is for markup in tools since the pandemic. this is the only salon i've ever been to in my life that charges for their hair dryers, scissors, etc. it wasn't disclosed to me at the beginning and although they waived it due to so i won't be coming back.

I went here a couple months ago and won't go back. If you're blonde don't go here. It's not worth it. I worked in a hair salon and know good service and well done hair. They didn't tell me pricing when they set me up with Katie but usually that's not an issue for me and I needed a last min apt. Katie was free the day before which makes sense because she charges $500 (and that doesn't include a tip) to have her assistant do half the work and her conflated ego showed the moment I sat down. I have two small kids and got a sitter to get my hair done. I wanted partial highlights and I was so excited. I sat in the chair for not even a minute and she said she is probably not in my "beauty budget". It was incredibly condescending and she irritated me because of the way she went about telling me how great she is and then sent me away. I went with her assistant who she said I could come back two days later for. I almost didn't even come back but it's not the assistants fault she is working under someone so rude. The assistant did ok but still the whole place is overpriced. Katie is now looking for a new assistant. Shocking.

I went in with two requests. 1. I want an even haircut 2. I want it longer than my chin. I'm not picky and these feel like very basic things to ask for. A desired length and a desired cleanness to the work. My hair is now neither of those things! I have straight hair that's VERY easy to manage and handle. If they can't handle my straight hair, I can't imagine what kind of work they do on curly hair that's a little thicker to work with. For $140 total (I got a haircut and a conditioning treatment), the least I can expect is that it be even. In their defense, it was dark when I went, so it's possible she didn't notice how uneven it was because it was dark. But even then, a salon should be bright enough that the hairdressers can see their work. I have interviews coming up and don't trust them to fix it. The woman on the phone said they couldn't refund me, but after I pushed a little bit, she gave me the email of management and I'm waiting to hear back. I will update this review if I hear back from them. I've gotten better haircuts from greatclips or myself... The sinks also smelled like urine, but that could be the ammonia from bleach, so I'm happy to write that off as a normal salon smell, but it's something to note. Update: management got back to me really quickly and offered to either fix the unevenness or offered a refund. I opted for the refund. Management was really nice about it.
