Uptown Looks Salon in Springfield, IL

I really want to give them a high store because everyone here is sooooo nice. You get a lot of little bonus things with a haircut, like an oil treatment and they actually wash your hair and not just try to spray you down. The problem was with the cut itself. I wanted a short, modern cut that I've gotten before and I didn't think was too tricky (but I don't really know). It took the stylist 2 tries to get something that I didn't mind walking out of the door with, and I still went home and had it fixed by my mom. For a standard cut, this place is probably great, and worth the extra cash to walk over during lunch and get a haircut. But for the fashion-forward, save your money and go somewhere else.

I did not like this place at all!! The gentleman who cut and colored my hair was way over the line with his hard hat and shovel digging for dirty stories about me and my family. The nosiest hair stylist ever, which was a total put-off and extremely tacky. He touched up my color - not a full color, a touch up, and I was charged $145 for the shampoo, cut, and touch-up. The color did not match. I thought it was over priced and I felt like my privacy was completely violated while I was there. If you like over the top gossip with someone who makes a fool of themselves with their profound ignorance of politics and other global issues, this is the place for you.

Just got my hair cut for the first time at this place. I am always nervous going to a new salon, worried that the stylist wont understand what a want, or the thickness or length or curl of my hair. I didnt have any of those issues here. I have thick, long, wavy hair that is difficult to deal with. The stylist took the time to talk to me about exactly what I want, suggested what would and wouldnt work and then did an amazing job. I have rarely left a salon, gone home and loved my cut, but this time I did. She perfectly integrated what I asked for and what she knew was best for my hair. I love my cut and Im going back soon for color. I was prepared to pay what I normally do for a top-quality hair cut ($100 range), but at $36 this haircut was an absolute STEAL.
