UM Nail Spa in College Park, MD

I usually have really great experiences with this shop, however after today I've left feeling unsatisfied with the service and quality of my nails. I wanted an acrylic set with a nude base and color on the tips (because I cannot have much for my job). I set my appointment for 11 and was not taken back for an hour. Once back, the nail tech did a great job with shaping, however once we started doing the base coats of polish I tried to tell them that it was too pink and not nude. They told me that there was nothing I could do at this point in the process to fix it and that's just what the nude looks like. I told them that I had been two times before and gotten a nude done perfectly fine with no issues, yet when I said this the other tech just told me I was wrong. I asked if there was any other shades/tones we could put on that may work better for my complexion and she insisted that was the only nude color they had in the store (which is strange because last time they tried our different shades of nude on me to see which one worked the best). They offered I put on more coats of the same polish, but they were still pink and not nude. The nail tech finished and I paid and left. After looking afterwards, comparing to my past nail pictures with this salon, and consulting with other nail techs, the nails are indeed pink and not nude. I called the shop afterwards to let them know I felt unsatisfied and if there was anything that could be done to fix them, and the tech that answered was argumentative. She said I could come back but it would be the same $80 fee again. I usually have no issues, however I feel like when I spoke up about something being off and wanting a change they were not trying to fix/accommodate. And I don't usually pick at little things , but after paying $80 and being unsatisfied and speaking up twice about it, they were not interested in trying to fix the issue. I'm not trying to be extra but it really is not what I wanted. Will not be returning to this shop.

This was my first time here, and the first time getting my nails done in awhile. They got me hooked on getting my nails done! Ann did my nails and did a great job and did it quickly. It was efficient, but it didn't feel rushed. They have a large selection of gel nail colors and get new colors with each season. I only got a gel manicure and pedicure, however I would go back to get something more complicated in the future as well. Ann told me that she's always practicing and learning the new trends, so I'd trust her with asking for something I saw on Pinterest. I had a great experience and will be returning!

I got a dip mani and gel pedi, I went for a walk-in and they immediately started. My dip is not thick or uneven, and she did a great job on my gel pedi. The prices were very similar to other places in MD that I've been. Will definitely go back again'

I had a really bad experience at this salon, even if my nails came out nice. The lady doing my nails had AWFUL customer service. She rushed me the whole time, mocked me, and was rude. She kept telling me I looked tired, making comments about my appearance, and making comments about me to everyone in the salon. She threatened to overcharge for everything, over what I thought was a simple design (french tip). She also continually got up and answered personal phone calls during this period, telling me to wait for her. I think she is the manager, too.
