ULTRA NAIL BAR in Silver Spring, MD

Nice when they first opened. The ladies are always trying to up sale you . They constantly argue among each other. Very rude and disrespectful at times. There is no manger . Some of the ladies are good and some are not. The services are very excellent. The upfront log in system never gives you points. After 2 years of being a loyal client and at this point I will do to another nail salon. I am a light skin black woman who looks white and I was told there is not enough black women in silver spring for them to make money because black women like everything fake. So I am done.

I've had good experiences here and like the gel manicure. The one thing that I don't really like is that none of the staff speaks English while I'm there although they can speak English. I'm a hair stylist who recently retired. In our salon, which has 20 stylists and 4 manicurists we all had to speak English no matter where we were from. This was so that our clients felt more comfortable and at home. I hope this will help them to get more clients.

Never written a yelp review before but had to do it to warn everyone NOT to go here to get your nails done. Ever! Empty on a Saturday morning should have been my first clue.... Nail polish used immediately ran and messed up the manicure. I think it was old - they do not carry known brands but present you with books to pick you color from. Did not get my money back nor did anyone try and fix the running nail polish. I had them remove it and left. Bad. Very bad.

Possibly the worst nail salon experience in my life. I went with 2 friends to celebrate a birthday. We had appointments for a mani/pedi package with scrub and wax. From the second we walked in they badgered us about every 5 minutes to upgrade to gel nails. The manager was visibly perturbed that we wouldn't comply and stuck with regular nail polish. They skipped some of our pedi services almost in protest. The woman doing my toes cut the sides of my big toenails down SO far that they hurt for a week and I wound up with an ingrown toenail on one. Honestly, it was painful for a month. My nail polish AND toenail polish (and my friends') started chipping in less than 24 hours. Miserable experience - will not return.

Normally do not leave reviews but this experience deserves a review. This was the rudest experience I've ever had and will not be returning. We needed last minute pedicures before our trip out of the country (myself, mother and sister). From pressuring us for extra services, to screaming the entire service, asking us irrelevant questions about our family out of nowhere (showing they were conversing about us) to charging extra for removing dead skin which I thought would be a basic service for a $50 pedicure. I would not recommend, and all three of us will be returning, fortunately unfortunate.
