Terrible salon service (Octavia). First of all her she had a very bad attitude and acted put out for having to do my hair, despite her recruiting me a week prior to get my hair done by her. I wanted an all over color and trim, which we discussed when I made the appointment. When I got there, she didn't have my color, she kept disappearing despite having only one other client who was also just waiting for her to style her hair. I have very thick long hair and she only spent maybe 5 minutes cutting it and then hopped over to AN EMPLOYEE to give her a very detailed 6 inch plus hair cut. She didn't even trim my entire head, left an entire 6 inch chunk of hair completely unshaped, and not once did she hand me a mirror or ask if ANYTHING was ok.
At the end of the over three hour process (I can only assume it took that long because she legitimately forgot about me, considering three other employees worked on my hair while she was doing whatever else she wanted to do beside tending to her client) I looked in the mirror and said "wow, it looks like I didn't even get a haircut". She hopped right over and said "that's what you wanted right? Just a trim". At this point I could tell she was trying to antagonize me and so I said yes, and left.
I will absolutely not be going back, at least not to Octavia. The rest of the staff was nice, but she was extremely unprofessional, lazy, and rude...despite literally recruiting me for this haircut. Very disappointing.
I love ulta. But my experience going in and having to deal with Allison's mood was not enjoyable. She rushed responses while I was asking questions and when I was waiting in the checkout line she said "I can take whos next" then not even 2 seconds later she snapped and yelled "I can take whoever is READY to checkout" which was very rude and she did not carry out correct customer service. I was gonna let it slide and assume she'd had a bad day, until looking on yelp and seeing other customers who have had issues with her and made me realize this is not the first issue she has caused with customers. All the other staff I've encountered at ulta have been very nice though.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Ulta. The employees here are all fabulous, but the store manager (I'm assuming) Allison is awful. She had an attitude, not only to me and my sister but an employee was asking for help and she quickly told them what to do and walked off. Didn't even help them through it and was annoyed they were asking! She was ringing up my sister and consistently talking to another customer and an employee.
My husband and I go to Oxford several times a month. I have started using the Ulta in Oxford to get all my hair products and makeup. I use Lancôme and wanted to see if they had the blush I use in stock. They had nobody in the makeup section to help customers. I finally found someone (girl with platinum hair) on the other side of the store, she said she would meet me in the Lancôme section to help me. I walked back to that section and waited. While waiting I see that another employee has come over and is matching makeup colors for another customer. I continued to wait and looked around only to see the girl who said she would help me at the registers talking to another employee. I waited awhile longer expecting her to come help me which she never did. The girl helping the other customer kept looking at me while I stood there waiting and she finally said I will be with you in a moment I'm busy right now. After waiting for thirty minutes for someone to help me, I left all the other things I planned to purchase and went across to Belk to purchase my Lancôme blush and received an awesome free gift with my purchase. Needless to say this Ulta has lost my business because they are to busy gossiping to help customers.
I stopped in recently to pick up some makeup for a pride parade. I wear makeup on occasion and have a good bit of knowledge on cosmetics in general yet I still often feel hesitant when purchasing products in store as I am a guy and employees are not always welcoming. They two women working who I spoke with were extremely kind and accommodating. They offered alternatives when the products I wanted were unavailable and made no judgements or assumptions about me as an individual. I won't think twice about coming here next time I need a product.
