Ulta Beauty in Bismarck, ND

I wanted a completely different cut. I don't remember the stylist name but it started with a P.

I attended the Ulta Salon as I have all over the country. I know that ulta offers a lot of cosmetologist right out of school into stylist positions this experience was clear that there needs to be more supervision over the inexperienced stylist. I made the appointment for 11 was asked to come at 1215 after already having to wait longer once I arrived I was in the chair for 5 hours vs the usual 1.5 I needed my roots touched up and explained I knew my gray color shades was different from the banding of bleach. The stylist kept trying to convince me to do highlights I continued to explain that's not what I wanted but she kept trying to insist it would look better. After settling that dispute we move to color where she strips my whole head to "see what level of raw color" I have. I was asked what my beauty budget was and was charged 255.00 when I said a max of 180. She asked me if I wanted her to remove the banding for 87 an hour I explained I don't have the time or the funds as I just moved to the location. What should have taken 1.5 hours was 5. The stylist kept harassing me to take pictures when in the blow drying state I was asked if I liked the color I explained No I was suppose to be grey I told her blonde in the winter makes me look washed out. I then was unable to talk to a manager the same day and was asked to reach out the next. Feeling worse about my hair I just wanted it fixed. I asked for a refund I was told I'd have to come in for a refund and then the retail manager who was not good at professional "covers the phone" as I hear her and the girl who had done my hair gossiping about me being upset then tells me that she can't give me a refund I needed to go through guest services I've contacted them and it's been 4 days and I spent another 130.00 at another salon to salvage my hair. After this experience I think it's smarter to go to a local salon where if there's an issue they will fix it immediately. In this area I would recommend Glance Salon, I'm so grateful they listened and walked me through what was going on the whole time.

Honestly, ulta is one of my favorite places. I love the fact that they're taking extra precautions during Covid, but I was pretty disappointed in the fact that you have someone working the register who's coughing into her hands, then handling the products I'm buying. I was extremely disgusted and almost changed my mind on buying them because she was touching them after coughing into her hands at least twice while she helped ring me up. Definitely won't be returning for quite some time.

After waiting a week for an appointment. They called and we're going to Meade me reschedule after another week!  Totally unacceptable!! Today totally unreliable!! Now I won't even enter this establishment for any service! There are plenty of other salads and retailers who actually want to provide a service to customers!!

For a long time customer that spends a lot I am very disappointed in the customer service I receive from Maddy. From someone who manages a lot of people she would have been let go on the spot. I know the pickings are slim in Bismarck for workers but you lost a 300 dollar sale, after a 400 dollar sale last week and a customer forever. I don't think customers need to hear when an employee has worked so many hours in a day and has been complaining to you because we all work and I don't really care. The employees far exceeded our expectations if it would have not been from maddy.
