Topps Salon Day Spa in Oakland, CA

Came here and the haircut I got, I couldn't tell the difference from the $25 haircut I usually get. But nonetheless, forgot her name, but she did a great job.

FYI this salon is now closed. I felt the transition was not very professional, I had to call to see if I still had an appointment because there was no word on when the salon would officially close down. My second cut was not that great so I'm not that disappointed. It looks like Tamika has branched out on her own because I received an Email with her new address. Good luck to her.

Changes not so good; my junior hairdresser of 2-3 years left and was replaced by another junior hairdresser who is not so nice.

I was here recently for a facial, coupon through Groupon. The salon is in Old Oakland, with some great restaurants and shopping close by. Tanisha did a good job on my facial and was pretty thorough. I loved the products she used - they smelt wonderful and felt even better! i left with glowing skin and in a terrific mood! Check it out. Tanisha and Amanda are also super nice!

First of all, it pains me to give a bad review because the ladies were wonderful, the place clean and overall the customer service is superb. However the execution was awful. I got a mani-pedi. Firstly the choices for nail color were very limited and not really up to date. The water for the pedicure was freezing, it took her ages to clip and clean and get to polish. When she did, she kept adding thinner to the nail polish which after being in the nail salon for 3 hours,and 2 hours at home with no shoes, they weren't dry and got destroyed by my shoes that night. The manicure literally took forever, I was getting shellac which I know takes longer but it took over 2 hours! Not to mention it was the worst manicure I've ever had, completely sloppy and on my skin, plus 4 days later it's chipping and coming off. Bottom line a complete waste of $65. I had to have it all re-done as I was leaving for a business trip.
