So Lake Charles isn't my home, but I decided to get my hair "freshened" and my eyebrows waxed while I had some time. I took a chance on The Ritz and made an appointment online. I arrived early but had a very short wait. Three different professionals took care of me. Their pace was perfect - they did not waste time or seem like they were hurrying to catch up. They helped me make some decisions on what to do with my hair and eyebrows, and I got some very subtle, perfectly pink, highlights and nicely shaped and colored brows. It was a pleasant and relaxing experience. The prices were stated upfront, and there were no surprise service or product charges on the bill. There was a $6.28 green fee that I didn't expect, but I'm not holding that against them. I plan to go back next time I'm in Lake Charles.
Horrible horrible experience I ever had with my hair. First off I thought this place was going to be amazing. I came in to get my hair touched up from a previous dye. It was the day before my birthday so I wanted to do something nice for myself. Long story short I wanted a Balayage, and the girl who was going to do my hair said she could do it however 2.5 hours later my hair was blow dried out and was a ombré with two streak highlights in the front! And orange blonde, and I had showed her what I wanted from the beginning. I knew it might not be the blonde I wanted but it was definitely not done as a professional. It was more like a ombré with different colors. Not in depth. So I had to say something this is my hair. The owner could only offer for me to pay $50 for color and come back for a free color correction or not come back and leave for free with messed up hair. Oh and let's not forget! She couldn't give me an appointment that day. I was furious as a owner you should fix a problem right away. You should call customers and tell them you have to reschedule due to a schedule mistake. That's what you do when you make mistakes. Anyhow I agreed to the $50 for color and redo. That Friday on my birthday I hated my hair but was excited to get it fixed with a lady whom they say has experience with color correction. I went in that Monday to get it fixed. The lady was nice, sweet. We talked laughed she saw my vision I wanted, however, bad news she left the bleach on to long and then toned it twice. At first my hair looked so nice styled that day and pretty, but after the follow two days my hair starting breaking and was so damage and frizzy! I had long hair, and now my hair was so uneven, damaged and horrible! They ruined my hair! I am so upset! I was on my way to go home to California to visit so I couldn't do anything about it. And just got back! I had to cut the ends, and not my hair is uneven from damage and having to cut it. I am disgusted by this salon. I wouldn't even go near here again. It will take me years to grow back my hair.
If I where anyone, I would steer clear of this place.
What they did and how they dealt with hair was very unprofessional and not thoughtful of how this can affect people long term! I will never recommend This place. I feel like I deserve a refund! I will have to wait years for my hair to grow back and get healthy again. What a mess.
