I was looking for a new stylist after almost 2 years of bad haircuts (curly/wavy hair) and came across Shawna's business. I reached out to her, and she was quick to respond, enthusiastic about the appointment, and very kind well before our booking was official. On the day of my appointment, Shawna made sure I felt comfortable and welcome in her space. I was looking for an alternative/edgy shag cut that is low maintenance in the mornings. Apparently this was right up her alley! She talked to me through her creative process before and during the cut which was reassuring, and I began to trust her vision and professionalism completely. Not only did I leave with an AMAZING haircut, but she gave me some fantastic advice and product recommendations on how to keep my hair happy and healthy. I am excited to say I've finally found a stylist who knows what they're doing and has fun doing it. I am already looking forward to our next appointment together.
I would definitely recommend Shawna. As someone with "Asian hair," it has taken me 6 years living in Raleigh before I finally had a successful haircut by someone familiar with my type of hair, and who was welcoming and professional. Even before the appointment started, Shawna was really understanding about a mix-up on my end with the appointment time. She spent the time to get to know me and my hair and asked plenty of questions to ensure she was giving me the cut I wanted. Going in, I was insecure and frustrated about my hair as it is transitioning between a LOB and a longer layered style, but I left feeling great about my cut despite the unusual length. She is SO friendly and great to talk to, asked questions about myself and listened with genuine interest. She even took the time to teach me how to "style" my bangs (in less than 5 mins) and even taught me how to get beachy curls using a curling wand!!!
