The Beauty Bar in Turlock, CA

I find the mixed reviews are probably based on the service you are going in for? I had the most amazing experience with my color and cut. Caylin has over 10 years of experience, she is kind, fun and quick. I live in the Bay and do have pretty high standards and my expectations where exceeded. The other girls all seemed really kind and upbeat as well. I will be coming back for Caylin for a very long time.

My review is solely based on the boutique part of this salon : I wanted to support small businesses but it's really hard for me to continue to do this when I receive below average customer service. The special aspect small businesses bring is the service is personal. I ordered online, & came in today to pick it up. I thought I'd browse around first since I've never been in here before, & maybe purchase something else. But the owner & her younger sister were sitting at the desk talking never acknowledged me till I said hello first. I did want to purchase several things but the welcoming was sooo....unwelcoming. I decided to grab my purchase and leave. I just feel like some of the other businesses do a way better job at approaching the customer & welcoming them into their shop. I was very underwhelmed shopping here & would never go out of my way again to purchase from here. Just my personal experience, quite disappointed.

I had previous services and they were fine, nice and polite. Until recently, I had booked a make up appointment for this Friday Sept 24th. I will be attending a wedding, and to make my day easier I just wanted to have it all done for me. I booked this appointment back in JULY, just to be texted today that they will be out of town with family for a vacation, and asked if someone else can do my make up. I did consider taking the substitute, but I didn't like her work and that's not who I booked my appointment with 3 months ago. This is not okay, this isn't a service I can just reschedule. I will have a hard time finding someone else on such short notice if I can even find someone else.

Very disappointed in this business. Had a wedding scheduled in May in which had to be canceled due to COVID. They did not communicate in any way until after they fact on next steps, did not offer to reimburse my $500 deposit for the inconvenience. All other vendors I had to cancel with were more than understanding and reimbursed all deposits I made since there is no resolution to the COVID situation. Let a lesson be learned, don't agree to a non refundable deposit unless they have a disclaimer in regards to what to do if a pandemic happens!!!

This place is truly your one stop shop! Hair, Nails, spray tan, make up and the list goes on! I could probably spend all day here with the friendly staff and adorable decor, I think I have found my forever hair home! (:
