Had made an appointment for 3pm, drove all the way there just to have her tell me she would be able to take me in for at least a half. She took a walk in ahead of me all though I had made an appointment. Won't go back.
After a bad experience with Great Clips when I first moved to Gig Harbor, went here and never looked back.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I brought my daughters here for a haircut. There was nobody there so can't blame them being busy for the quality or lack there of. Our stylist literally spent five minutes on each of the girls' hair cuts. She basically just took scissors and cut straight across the bottom without any attention to detail or making sure that the sides were even. She had the girls stand up during their haircuts and was literally done in less than five minutes each. She did not style their hair, blow dry or put any product in it. If I had known how shoddy a job she would do, I would've just tried to cut their hair on my own at home. I didn't bother to ask her to spend more time on the haircut because I wasn't sure that she knew what she was doing. Can't believe these two haircuts cost me $50. Total waste of money!
It would be the professional thing to do to notify customers with appointments that their hair person had quit. It is very frustrating to show up for an appointment and find out this way not providing the option to either schedule with someone else or go elsewhere. Sarah does a great job and has a terrific disposition but she is not the manager. Shirley is and she should have addressed this and if not her, the owners of the salon. Regulars make appointments sometimes weeks in advance giving the business a substantial window to notify customers of changes. This is a management responsibility and obligation, not to mention good customer service and accountability. Unfortunately these principles are not in place at this salon in Gig Harbor. And (this not from Sarah), COVID should not be a catch-all either, that is disingenuous and manipulative in many instances.
Great haircut, great attitude, Shirley does listen to your wants, unlike some other salons in town, and if I am undecided she does help you with what is best for your hair and which style is best for you, she a real pro.I will return. A gem for Gig Harbor.
