Taif African Hair Braiding in Warren, MI

I have been with this business for years, this is the first time back since covid and I was in disbelief. I've been getting the same still for years. I text the owner and the braided the day before to schedule and appointment and verify price and sent a picture of the style. I inform them I had the coupon also from their site.They said they could do it. First I got there on time, the braidedr was not there. I had to wait 45 minutes before she arrived. Then I was told she does not do that style anymore. I asked why I wasn't told that yesterday day, the reason was they don't have that brand hair anymore to do it. Therefore, I agreed to a different style that was similar. It was from theirs website. I was told they can do that one and that the braided does it all the time.as usually they collected their money half way through. I had the coupon still. They told me they no longer honor their coupons on the weekends, even though some of the coupons say clearly Sunday and Monday specials or that they did jot expire until 2/27/2021. Today is 2/21/2021. I just said whatever and paid the extra money.. The next problem now was when they got to the top of the head, she really did not know how to do it, one of the other braided first notice it and commented. That is what made me look at it. I told her that is not the way the 2nd style picture look. She told me she had to do it a different way. I disagreed. We paused for a minute and then she took some down and redid it. At this point I am furious. I asked for a refund and she could take it down. I was told the owner was gone, she would have to wait until he got back. She said she could do a different style on top. I asked her since we changes the style twice and I am getting a cheaper style can I get some of the money refunded. She said yes and she would call the owner. I agreed to allow her to finish. When it was down it still look nothing like either picture. I asked about the partial refund and and was told he said no and he was not coming back to the shop. They have lost their quality in work and customers service. I got the owner number and he had the nerve to tell me to have common sense. First he should never try to offend his clients. Second he has a poster up that says let them know before if you don't like it and they would try to resolve it. That did not happen, I basically got told I am shit out of luck and my money for the lesser hairstyle was not adjusted accordingly. I would have never thought I would be treated like this after going to there now for over 11 years. Smh ... I referred many people to them and brought my own family there. I still in disbelief. Also they tried to me these coupons are expired.. the expiration date clears stated the 27th of February of year 2021...still cannot believe this...

I will not be back. I've got my hair done here four times previous. The braids that i had before were nice. I told the lady that was starting my hair that I wanted medium box braids. I showed her a picture as well. I wanted the braids to be right above my back side. I had two braiders working on my head. One did the back the other worked on the front. The braider that was in the front put large braids in my head. My braids were huge in the front and a variety of sizes throughout my head. When I complained they all said that the braids were nice. I called the the owner and he basically stated that I would have to talk to the lady that braided my hair. The owner said that he did not know what to believe and he only could give me the number to the braider. The braider said she would only do the first row of my head. They did a terrible job. I wasted my money and time.

The name of the place explains what type of business it is. I've been going here for years . The ladies are nice, their work is neat and they work fast.

I have been to a lot of different shops and this one is by far my favorite! I drive from Kalamazoo all the time just to go here. They have always been very professional and my hair has always been beautiful. Yes it is right but that's what I expect. They even fit me in when they were extremely busy.
