What to do on a Monday ( When most salons are closed) when you realize your hair is way over due for a overhaul? Start remembering where you got the last great haircut and style. For me it was years ago when Doug Swasey at Swasey's Hair Center got my hair in shape just by looking at it. He always knew what needed to be done to get me back to my signature look that he created. ( Very sassy, no product - no brush required) I felt better just walking in the door in anticipation of his talent, and his always welcomed commentary on life. My out of town business kept me away for over 8 years. When I returned Doug had tragically passed away. We were all devastated. He was a great man with a multitude of talents and interests. Mistakenly I just assumed I should go elsewhere for my hair. I was so wrong. Enter Sandra Mathias, Doug's daughter. I called ahead and was told that she cuts hair just like her father. I thought I'd won the hair lottery and rushed right in with a friend in need of a new do as well. Sandra was delightful, understood what the task at hand was ( just like her father) and got to work. The result was an updated, beautifully designed hair style that is easy care but still feminine (Sassy, no brush, no product required). My friends hair was cut very well for his particular concerns as well. Very stylized gentleman's cut highlighting his facial structure and hair type. Thank you Sandra for keeping Swasey's Hair Center going and thriving for all of us locals to patronize. Your "Make your family part of our family" slogan never rang truer.
