Sunflower Nails & Spa in Escondido, CA

The first time I came here I'd give it a no star because all the nail techs were gossiping the whole time and the manicure lasted 1 week. I didn't go back for 2 years! I was in a jam on a Sunday and went before vacation, was okay. I was confused as the swatches didn't match and my gray purple hue was more like grape! Also the lady was in a bad mood, basically did nothing to prep my nails and cut me. It was loud and ppl were talking all kinds of crazy stuff (you know just constant, loud talking). I went back on a rainy day a few days ago when no one was in and the staff was cleaning water from the floor. Well, well ... on this day it was so nice and calm. People were just chit chatting and my nail tech took her time. She put like 120% effort since there was no other customers. Great work! See my real photo of my real nails and not a fake mani photo. So I give Sunflower 3 stars since I think I just got lucky last time! I really liked my last powder mani and got many compliments. $50 dip powder and they charge $1 extra to pay with card. Cash tips only.

This place is terrible! When I first got here, I asked for 3 pedis and 1 set of nails. The guy didn't really speak English, so I kept repeating myself to make sure he understood. He understood the pedis but asked me to repeat what I wanted for my nails. I said, "I want a full set of nails." He asked, "gel." I said sure. Then as I was getting my pedi, a lady asked me if I still wanted nails. I said yes. When my pedi was done, another guy called me over for my nails. He asked if I wanted gel, I said yes. He started to paint them with something clear, so I said you are doing nails right? He said, "Yes, this goes under the nail." Okay! Then he started to open the color chose and I said you do understand that I want a full set of nails, right? He said, no, I thought you wanted them painted. I said not, I want a full set. He got irritated! He glued the nails on and started to clip them. I said I want almond shape. He said you should have told me they are too short. I said, aren't you supposed to ask? He got an attitude. I didn't want to make a scene so I left it alone. Boy did he do a TERRIBLE job. They are bulky, crooked and some are square and some are found and all are UGLY. Last time I go there!!

Got a full set and spa pedicure. Quiet atmosphere and a little odd at first but they did a great job. I got a fill somewhere else and they didn't last half as long. Great massage with pedicure, but the polish was old and changed colors on my toes. Also, they didn't apply a top coat on my toes so chipped within a few days. Never had that happen before. Multiple people seem like they were regulars. The place is worth a try, just get pricing ahead of time. Full set and spa pedicure was $100 before tip.

I wouldn't even give 1 star, but I have to choose. I have been to your salon 3 times and each time was a disaster. This last time, I had my nails done on Friday 2/9 - dipped. He took off all of the previous dip, which destroyed my nails and then he shortened them down a lot without even asking me what I wanted. On Sunday, 2/11 when I came in with a friend, the 2 thumbs were already broken. He cut them, put a tip on them and did not shape them at all. They look HORRIBLE! The rest of my nails were already peeling, so he put on another coat of gel. Today, 3 of the 8 nails are now chipping and breaking. I have had my nails done for the past 10 years and have NEVER had this bad of service and breakage. For this, I was charged $50!!!! Why? I have never paid that much for a manicure with gel and acrylic or dip. My pedicure on Sunday 2/11 was the worst I have ever had! I am so disappointed in your service!

Skip this place unless you have a tech you regularly see and actually like... Went in for a pedi today with one of the ladies and she tried to pressure me into paying more for gel or deluxe or whatever. Even when I politely declined, she immediately started giving me a nasty attitude and cold shoulder. Only giving me one coat of polish when I know it should usually be two? Pedicure was quite painful too. And when I paid she just threw my card at me instead of handing it over nicely. She's lucky I tipped!!!! It was an older lady but no one has ever been so rude before just bc I didn't want to spend a bit extra that day. Boooooo I'll find another place in Escondido. Anywhere but here !!!!
