STATUS THE SALON in Encino, CA

Loved Lesia and the overall vibe of Status Salon. I have naturally curly hair and I am of mixed race. I wanted a hair treatment that made it easier to straighten my hair. I received a Brazilian blowout and it did the trick. It greatly reduced my styling time. I think the Brazilian blowout is great if you want to wear your hair straight most of the time. I do miss my natural curls. I don't love the relaxed wave that the blowout gave to me (when I don't flat iron) but my hair is mid length and it would probably look great if my hair were longer. At any rate I will continue to go to Lesia at Status salon for styling and care. Thanks Lesia

5 stars specifically for Leyla! She is a hair and eyebrow genius! She's incredibly meticulous about her work to the point where sometimes she cares a little bit more than I do! I trust her fully and always know I'm going to have great results with her. She's my go-to person for eyebrow threading, haircuts, Brazilian blowouts, and special event hair. I don't color my hair, but if I ever do, I'll definitely go to her. All her clients have amazing color! As far as Brazilian blowout, I've been doing it for years and have done it with multiple stylists. It always lasts the longest with Leyla. I think it's because she uses high quality products that don't sit around for a long time, she uses a LOT of it, and really takes her time. For my long hair it takes three hours which is longer than other people, but you see it in the results. As far as the salon, I haven't tried anyone else so I can't comment on other services. The location is conveniently located to a lot of places so you can get your errands done and they have a large parking lot. The salon is spacious and clean, but nothing fancy. If you're looking for a new stylist, definitely try Leyla!

When you go to Status the salon you have to go to Leyla. She is the best stylist La has to offer. She does my eyebrows and my hair and every time I get amazing results. My eyebrows are always done perfectly thanks to her and my hair has never looked better. She treats you like a princess and make you leave there looking and feeling beautiful. I absolutely love her work and would recommend it to everyone in a heartbeat!!!!

I had my first hair cut at Status this week and it was a surprisingly wonderful experience. I say surprisingly because I abandoned salons all together a few years ago in favor of local barbershops. I had become tired of having to book an appointment a month in advance when I don't know my schedule, waiting for up to 30 minutes while they finish the person before me, and paying upwards of $50 for a men's haircut. I decided to try Status because I got a couple of mediocre haircuts at Floyd's 99. First of all, i was able to schedule the appointment 2 days ahead of time. From the moment i walked in the door I felt like I was at home. My cut was with Ludwig, one of the owners. He did a fantastic job, was very quick and got me back to work in time for my next patient. Since I left, multiple people have told me how much they love my hair cut, and even my wife and mother-in-law say I look younger and yet somehow more professional too!
