Star Nail in Bemidji, MN

Today a friend and I went here to get our nails done. 10-13-21 we were greeted with " you have appointments l?" We said yea and picked our polish. I said down and showed the guy a picture. He immediately said "we don't do that" okay that was fine so I picked the polish that I wanted. It was regular polish not gel. He starts filing my nails and SMACKED my hand because I wasn't holding it how he wanted. He was very very rude. So we get to the polish and he makes me get gel. I told him they didn't have the color I wanted in gel. He said go look on the other wall. So fine, I find the closest color to what I wanted. He moved my stuff over to his wife without even saying anything. So she puts the color on. The green changed to grey under the light and I expressed that I did not like it and I wanted a different color because it had changed to a totally different color. She rudely told me it would cost more because it took a lot of time. So I leave with nails I don't like. She also gave me a dirty look when I didn't tip. I will never ever go back here. So unprofessional.

Do not come to this place. They use old files and foot scrubbers. I'm almost positive they don't sanitize the utensils. The containers they use to hold all of their utensils were so dirty with build up of scum. The lady was zoning in and out while rubbing my legs. She didn't file my nails or clean underneath them. I don't know if she was high on pills or not but it really looked like it. The owner is just as rude as all of its employees, if not worse. A very incompetent business. I hope no one has the experience I did. I've never felt so disrespected and humiliated in my life. I'll never come here again when I come to visit my family in Bemidji.

I have been going here off and on. Today the man swore at me when I got polish on my skin. He also swore at me when I tried the polish on one of my nails. He hit me a number of times with the life when my fingers would not bend. One nail was not even and asked if he would fix it and he said no so I did and he told me I could just take it home and do it all my self. My nails are very uneven. They do not charge the price that is on the wall. Prices very every time I go there. I will be reporting him tomorrow to the BBB and to the state licensing department.

Basic pedicure, nothing fancy. They did a good job on the nail polish and it wasn't too short of a massage etc. the one criticism is they didn't tell me prior to the pedicure that the credit card machine wasn't working, seems a bit crazy they wouldn't say anything before hand.

I would give them a more negative rating if possible. I went there as walk in, they were not busy. I was told "We don't do dipped nails & we don't have any appointments!" Wow‼
