Sola Salon Studios in Duluth, GA

Let me start with saying this is NOT a review of my stylist or her services. She deserves 5 stars all day every day. This is a review of this studio's management services. I had an appointment and I brought my dog with me to the appointment. My dog is a certified service animal. In the middle of my appointment people were walking by taking pictures of my dog for "evidence". Shortly after, the management called to reprimand my stylist. I completely understand laws about sanitary salons and I'm sympathetic to them. But the issue lies in that I was never approached or addressed by managers to even ask if my dog was a service animal. I was extremely embarrassed and disappointed. I would not recommend this studio to any stylist looking to rent space.

Not cheap, but worth it. One day I told my daughter the Sola Salon was a little pricey. Too much for a haircut! Find a cheaper place! She did, but the result was frightening. First of all, several days of crying and multiple weeks of complaining. I have to admit: it was pretty bad. That's when I appreciated the Sola Salon. They fixed the bad hairdo and improved it. It looks perfect now. Just the way she wanted and according to her type of hair. They pay attention to what you wish and have expertise to do what's right to your type of hair. I have now not only happy daughter, but also pretty good-looking.

Initially this place strikes as odd (hence the 4 stars). The "salon" is a bunch of smaller "salons" combined into one giant space. I go to Kari at Ixia salon per a recommendation from a friend. Kari is great and I highly recommend her. The "salons" seem to be busy all the time as well so they must be good as well. I'm still weird-ed out by the concept of Sola. Eh, I'm sure I will get over it...someday...

When I moved to Atlanta I had a hard time finding both a good and experienced hairdresser, until a friend recommended that I try Eastman Taylor Salon. I scheduled a consultation and was completely comfortable with my stylist Ron Eastman. He really took his time and "studied" my hair, even pointing out areas where breakage occurred. I was also in transition from growing my perm out and he was gentle with my hair. At his suggestion, I allowed him to clip my ends, which I was scared to do because other stylists tend to chop your hair off. However, he only clipped the dead ends and when I left the salon my hair looked healthy and was full of body. When I got home, my sister wanted to know who did my hair and now she goes to Ron as well. If you are looking for a good hairdresser, don't hesitate to book an appointment with him! This salon is incredible. The employees go out of their way to do what is normally not required just to make sure that you as a customer have the very best experience possible. Mike the Manager is especially wonderful. Going out of his way to go above and beyond what is normally required made me feel extremely appreciated. They do a wonderful job with any and all hair types and will cater to your needs. GO HERE!! Don't waste time at any other salon hoping for a good hair cut, skip the effort and make it easy on yourself. Just talk to Mike!
