Siren Salon & Spa in Fenton, MI

This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. I thought because of the area I was in, that it would have been a better experience. I made an appointment for a shellac manicure and pedicure. The salon was nice and clean. I arrived a few minutes early, and had no problem with them being a couple of minutes behind. I was there right at their opening, and totally understood that they had to get some things in order. The person who did my nails was a very nice woman, but this was by far the worst mani/pedi I have ever had. She barely pushed back my cuticles, didn't clip any hangnails or cuticles, and I left with a manicure that looked like it had been grown out for 2 weeks? The pedicure was just as bad. In the middle of my pedicure, she asked if it was okay if she took a few minutes to enter some things into the system. I was trying to get in and out, but was kind of awe-struck when she said this, and I felt terrible saying "no," so I said OK and waited. I get being short staffed, but come on. I had an appointment. Maybe they should have been early to open up the salon so that when it was open to customers they could be attentive? I paid $90 with a tip for the WORST mani/pedi I have ever had in my life. I would not recommend. I will be attempting to upload photos of this as well. Save your time and save your money...

This review is for Sara at Siren. I found Sara on a whim on Facebook when I was looking to get a fresh cut and wanted to test the waters with some color on my virgin hair. I have a job in which a full head of color would not bode well, so I wanted a peekaboo pop of color. I sent Sara some pictures of what I was looking for before our appointment and she was very realistic with me regarding what would be achievable. The main thing that drew me to her was her very reasonable pricing. A lot of the colorists I found wanted upwards of $100 for just color and Sara was willing to give me a cut and color for $65. When I met Sara, she was very warm and inviting. She offered me a water and warm coffee on a cold winter day and we talked more about what kind of color I was looking to achieve. I'm pretty liberal with my hair because it grows so quickly so I just gave her a general color palette and let her run with it. In the end, I think it came out quite nicely and she was very true to my peekaboo request which was really my only requirement so I definitely appreciated that! My only reason for taking away one star is for the longevity of the color. Sara had informed me the color would last for 4-5 weeks but I'm 2 weeks out from my service and the ends are already starting to fade. She did warn me though that sometimes it takes multiple treatments for the color to really take. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and will be visiting her again the next time I need a new 'do!
