*Hidden Treasure Alert* Ya'll let me tell you, they say you get what you pay for, but sometimes they just say that so they can rip you off. In my youth, I was a fly by my pants kind of girl who got green and orange hair as a result of mall cut and colors more than once. Through my daughter's toddler years, I found an awesome hairstylist and adopted a low maintenance, very long (easy ponytail) balayage once a year look. My girl was super popular, got more expensive in my time with her and after Covid had a crazy long rebooking list and moved salons. I went to Groupon and found Shear Hideaway. Initially the Groupon seemed too good to be true, it was less than half what my girl charged, but there were all five star reviews. I went to the business' Facebook page and everyone raved about this girl. So I bought the Groupon. First I called the number and her voicemail was full, considering that she owned her salon and in light of Covid, I figured she was getting a lot of calls and it might be a cell so I texted. She replied within 24 hours. I let her know that I was a Groupon and what I wanted. She was thorough about asking the length of my hair, how many colors I wanted etc and was open about what would be an upcharge outside of the Groupon. She was very fair and reasonable though and did not charge me any extra as I wanted what the Groupon was for. Also, my hair is very long (to my waist) but I was getting it cut to shoulder length and she didn't charge me any extra for hair length like some people do. She was incredibly personable and made me feel very welcome and at ease like we had been friends our whole lives. The next appointment coming in after me was one of her friends from high school who moved to SC years ago and still comes back to have Kristin, the stylist, do her hair. I was incredibly pleased with both the cut and color. The price was beyond fair. And to top it all off, I had gotten a new phone that morning and couldn't sign into my Venmo account. She trusted that I would tip her when I got home and was very VERY sweet about it. Not only was I a Groupon, she was genuinely lovely to me, having never met me and I was walking out of her shop without handing her a dime (of course I tipped her when I got home and unlocked my Venmo). Truly though, I can't recommend her highly enough. See for yourself.
