Serenity Salon & Spa in Ocala, FL

This place is an empty store front with someone collecting funds from unusable groupons. I purchased a groupon called the number, no answer. So I followed it up with a message on fb page. Quick response was given. Made appointment. When I arrived no one was there, door was locked and store was bare.

Daniel did NOT do a decent job. I called over 2 weeks in advance, & 2 days before, just to make sure that they would have the time allotted for my daughter & I to get a decent cut & style (for the 1st time in either one of our lives, ever). They did not leave enough time slotted for the appts..& I called 2 WKS in advance AND 2 days ahead to double check, (just in case u missed that). They need to get their appts right. It could've been an awesome experience if he'd given us more than 15 mins for me & daughter's hair (Groupon package for a "style, cut, & blow-dry"). They were Extremely rude & he was Fake. They were absolutely HORRIBLE to me & my 6 year old!! & I was on my way to my 1st cousin's funeral!!! They insulted me when I 1st walked in the door! Called me a 'cigarette' & said they 'forget how much 'cigarettes' smelled!! I don't smoke in my car when my daughter is with me, so I took a couple puffs off one when I got out of the car, Bc when I called, out of courtesy, to let them know I'd be maybe 5-10 mins late, they tried to blame it on ME, & say they didn't have enough time for our 2 appts Bc the guy had to go pick up his "11 (eleven?!) year-old daughter from school"! I'm so sick of the mind games from society--u "SOCIOPATHIC SICKOS"!! All I wanted was a decent actual haircut & experience with my 6 year old, but all we get is treated like toys with batteries in them & like metal cans that u just can kick around all u want. This place should be shut down for the lack of courtesy to its appointed guests, & for how they treat their customers, who do not deserve to be greeted nor treated with such disrespect. The man & woman working there should take a class on ethics & morals. They both get "F MINUSes" & "ZERO STARS". -em (I felt bad so I kept updating my reviews, to give them more credit... but they don't deserve it. The woman was TERRIBLE!!! At least David had a heart! The woman wouldn't even say hi, look at us, or help, & she's supposed to be running the place. She just kept rolling her eyes at me, when I said that I was under the impression that we'd both be getting hair cuts & styles from 2 different people, since that's what we had agreed upon & were paying for. How extremely rude of them. I'm flabbergasted with how awful some people can be to small children & genuinely kind women. It's really messed up.

Denise is the best! I was ready to cut off all my hair, and I trusted her to do the color and a lob. She exceeded my expectations by a million percent! She took off about 6 or so inches and did gorgeous blonde highlights and lowlights as well. I am beyond satisfied!

Thanks for making me beautiful. Denise, the owner & head stylist is amazing in transforming women into their best selves. I wear my hair natural and finding a stylist who can work with my type of hair was a challenge so it is a joy to find this place.

I got my fist perm back in March, I didn't know that my hair was supposed to be checked for thickness and how healthy it was before the perm, my stylist Denise said my hair was good, and permed me with very small perm rods, I said I wanted a Mane like the blonde off "Carrie Diaries". The perm solution burned my scalp and face, I may have been allergic? But no test was done to check. After the perm was rinsed out I looked like a poodle! Some of my hair on the right side of my head didn't even take my perm. She offered to re-perm it in a day or so, Which I declined to do b.c it would have further damaged my hair. Before the perm my hair was long to my bra strap, I have since had so much breakage I have had it cut into a bob. MY hair is falling out in clumps. I spoke with a different salon and she informed me that there should have been spacers in my bands for the rods, to minimize breakage and that the perm rods she used were the smallest and not the right size for Fine hair. I am so upset. I have spoken with the salon twice and she refuses my phone calls. I spent 150$ for this disaster! And a 50$ tip.... The perm was to Relax to the curls I wanted In a few days... And nothing to show but my head balding! I would recommend you stay clear of this salon! I am almost in tears my hair is so ruined!
