Salon Voi-l in Audubon, NJ

Ed, the owner, is a talented hair dresser. But don't catch him on a bad day. He put color in my hair then told me to go home if I wanted to wash it out. I would not recommend this salon.

Ok, sooooo, I'm a pretty terrible client. I have been known to walk in to salon's with a plan to get a cut and color and walk out after over thinking it! With that said, from the second I walked in, I felt cool, calm and collected! Mollie is an angle with the patience of a saint. I had some pretty bold requests (wanted to go from brown to silver in 5 minutes). Mollie talked over color options and a plan to get me to the color I wanted, but with a less drastic approach. We decided full head highlights and an icy blonde toner would be a great start. Well let me tell you, SHE NAILED IT!!! My color is awesome and my short bob cut is stellar!! I will be back to continue the process and I feel confident Mollie can achieve any request I throw her way!!!

I was so impressed with my experiences here that I decided to write my first Yelp review. I've been to many, many salons in my lifetime, and finally found everything I ever looked for a salon to be at Salon Voila. The salon is stylish, but extremely friendly and relaxed, and VERY CLEAN (which is very important to me). You feel the warm, welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door, and everyone is SO nice. Salon Voila IS NOT one of those stuffy, snooty, pretentious salons - you know, the salons where you feel like you need to arrive in the latest fashions, with your hair done and your makeup on. I also find it refreshing that this salon doesn't push clients to buy products at the end of their appointment - a real pet peeve of mine. I stopped going to one salon who did this to me at the end of EVERY monthly appointment (even after I asked the owner to stop asking me). This practice puts clients in the uncomfortable position of having to say 'no'. I feel it's rude and inconsiderate for salons to do this. We all know products are available for sale. I guess the most important thing is that the stylists are EXCELLENT listeners. More often than not I feel like a stylist has their own ideas and ignores what I want, but that is NOT the case here. I'm picky about my color but Mollie did a phenomenal job! I've never gotten so many compliments on my color. I highly recommend going here for an all around great salon experience.
