Salon Swank in St. Petersburg, FL

Just got my hair done yesterday by Jenny at Swank. I love, love, love my haircut!!! Jenny listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. Love this Solon and will definitely get my hair done there by Jenny every time. Great customer service too!

Wonderful spa day at Salon Swank for the mother of the groom and family on June 3, 2023 ( west location 6649 Central Ave South). The staff was friendly, created hairstyles we had chosen and applied our makeup beautifully. Themi was easy to communicate with to plan out our spa day and she was also one of our hair and makeup artists. Salon Swank also let us bring in snacks and champagne! Themi was a pleasure to work with and she is very talented as well.

I have been going here for about 2 years now! My stylist is Themi and she is the absolute best. She always ensures that I love my hair and we have the best conversations while I am there! You could tell she truly cares and loves her work! On top of that she spend the last year making sure I had the perfect color and cut for my wedding day!

I don't have a dedicated go-to stylist at Swank but I've never had a bad cut in the handful of times I've gone. It's a bit pricey for a cut so when a friend recommended another stylist for a no-frills trim and style, I went for it. I felt a bit uneasy when I saw the woman in the chair before me sporting a soccer mom stack 'do. But it was an age-appropriate style and she seemed pleased with it so the stylist is probably just giving her exactly what she asked for. When my turn came, I showed her a few pictures and explained what I liked about each. I told her if any of it was not reasonable for my hair type to throw it out. I walked out with the second worst haircut of my life. The first worst haircut of my life left me sporting Rosie the Riveter bandanas for FOUR MONTHS while I bobby-pinned my ragged layers under the fabric. This was not THAT bad but nearly. I smiled wanely, said it was fine, left a tip, pulled the hacked layers up in a short pigtail when I got to the car and called Swank. Did they have any last minute cancellations ASAP? Yes, thank g-d. I drove straight there, trying to pep talk myself, "It's just hair. It's just hair.It's just hair.It's just hair..." while imagining the worst: a return to my 90's era pixie cut because there wasnt enough hair left to do anything else. Masha was my stylist and she patiently explained that cutting the rest of my hair off was NOT going to make me feel better. Instead, she fixed my bangs which was the glaringly, obvious in-my-face evidence of a hair hack-job and I felt calmer. Next, she pulled out the curling iron and showed me how to style my hair. "Keep it curled," she advised, let it grow out a few months then come back and we'll fix it. Since then, I've applied her advice and my hair isn't disastrous looking.
