I don't usually post anything on Yelp because I think running a business is a difficult job and all businesses can experience an "off day". However, I'm giving this one star instead of zero only for the receptionists whom are always so polite and helpful. This salon was suggested by another vendor I was using for my wedding. I scheduled an appointment with Heather Turner, co-owner & stylist, who was highly recommended. I explained the type of style I would like for my hair trial and showed her several pictures. She seemed like she understood what I wanted and started to work. Along the way, I explained that I would prefer it to look more like the pictures I showed her on my phone and figured she would tweak it along the way as most stylists do during a hair trial. After about 40 minutes, she said she had another client so I went downstairs for my makeup trial. My mom accompanied me for the hair trial, since this was supposed to be an exciting pre-wedding moment. Having never been through this experience before, we figured she would come back to me to make obvious and necessary adjustments. However, she did not. Not being entirely happy with the outcome, she assured me it would be great on my wedding day. I wasn't completely convinced but paid the $110 for the trial and made an appt for my wedding day which was two months away in September. I was charged a $200 deposit fee at that time to book the date. After a few weeks, I was growing more concerned that she was not the right fit for my wedding day. Looking at pictures of her work, you could see the bobby pins sticking out and it looked nothing like what I wanted!!! I was in a time crunch!! Fortunately, I booked a trial with another salon a friend mentioned and had such a better experience so I immediately called to cancel with The Anchor Salon in August, exactly one month before my wedding. I was given the run around, my calls were not returned, Heather was always unavailable, and she never called when she said she would. After a week of leaving messages with the receptionists and leaving direct voicemails, I called from my work phone and she picked up. We spoke and she said she would send my refund of $200 that I left as a deposit, took my address and said she was sending me a check because she was unable to refund my debit card. As of today, I have still NOT received it. I called twice to speak with her, but again was avoided. This time, I asked the receptionist (always so polite) for Ms. Turner's email thinking maybe it was lost in the mail or she forgot due to her severely busy schedule. Her response to my email was that they do not refund deposits and that this is "listed on their website and on all bridal packages". As of March 16th 2016, it is NOT posted on their website, nor would that be contract binding even if it was, and I was not given any "bridal package". I didn't even sign a contract!!! When I responded, I reminded her of our previous conversation, where she made no mention of such a policy, and reiterated her promise to me stating she would send my refund and asked her to reconsider this new found policy. She had no response. Additionally, she did not respond to the Better Business Bureau in regard to my complaint. Apparently, she is a stylist for a "famous" musician or some nonsense she couldn't stop talking about during my hair trial but can't manage a $200 refund to a bride whom did not receive a service from her. Her response, as a business owner, was a "one liner" email severely lacking professionalism signing off as "Best, Heather". No concern or apology for any inconvenience this may have caused. It is clear she didn't forget or accidentally become too busy to remember. I question her integrity as a business owner, as well as her other co-owners. Ms. Turner's business acumen needs a makeover when dealing with potential new clients to help build her business so she can afford to refund customers for a service they NEVER received. I didn't even get a cup of coffee or this herbal tea assortment that every one of her friends is raving about on here. In the past 6 months, 4 friends of mine have also been married....and when they asked for my recommendations for a salon & stylist, it was not The Anchor Salon, nor Ms. Turner. For peace of mind, pick another establishment. I wouldn't want anyone having their money stolen, being made to feel insignificant during such a momentous time, or having to deal with a frustrating & stressful situation such as this while planning a wedding. Like I mentioned earlier, running a business is difficult. Not everyone is cut out for it.

Hands down, the best salon I've ever been to. I've been struggling for years to find a salon that I can completely rely on and so happy I found the Anchor Salon. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a coffee or tea and made to feel like you are at home in this cozy salon. I received a cut and color from Nicole F, and I have not stopped receiving compliments!! I was nervous having never colored my hair before but she made the whole experience stress free and my hair has NEVER LOOKED BETTER!! I couldn't see myself getting a haircut from anywhere else!

I love the certain way Heather looks at me and knows what my hair needs to make it fall the right way and listens at the same time to hear what i am looking for. Then she makes it happen. I don't know how she makes it look great by cutting it while making it look longer at the same time. Whenever I walk in I always feel at home in such a warm and fabulous atmosphere. Love Anchor

Wonderful salon!! I highly recommend this salon! The girls are so incredibly talented and it's a wonderful atmosphere to be in. The girls are creative and fun and make you feel fabulous every time! I would 100% recommend this salon for both hair and nails!

Wow! What an amazing experience at The Anchor Salon! The moment you walk you will feel right at home, with two adorable little dogs greeting you, ugh I'm dog obsessed so this is a huge perk for me :). Next big obsession of mine is coffee...good coffee, I was made a fresh cup of Rook coffee, pour over...couldn't beleive it, two thumbs up for that! Third, the haircut was everything I wanted. Carly was the stylist and she just knew exactly what I wanted. I haven't had my haircut in over two years because of bad experiences I had, Carly completely changed my mind and I will no longer wait two years to get my haircut. Thank you so much Carly for a fabulous haircut and to Anchor Salon for just being ridiculously awesome. I will make sure I refer all of my friends and family.
