This was a few months back and I kept forgetting to review it but I now finally have time. I won't mention who did my hair because I feel like this was maybe a one off for them and also it would just be mean but I still want to share my experience and give a warning to others that fantasy/unnatural hair colors might not be this establishments specialty. It really felt like I was at a friends house doing my hair but my friend was trying to figure it out at the same time. I really wished that the research had been done prior to my appointment, considering I sent photos of what my hair looked like and what I wanted and the person that did my hair hadn't even seen the photos until the day OF(I had reddish brownish hair, and I wanted a nice even toned purple and I know it was going to be difficult which is why I wanted to give them time to prepare). I was willing to pay what I needed to pay to get that end result I had sent a photo of. I ended up wasting nearly $300 dollars on uneven and spotty hair color that really did look like I did it myself same thing with the haircut(not what I asked for but this was practically unfixable and just something I had to deal with). After I let them know I was unhappy with it, they did offer a free touch up, but the touch up only darkened it and removed most of the color that HAD been there. I'm sure they tried, but I paid a lot of money for someone who didn't really know what they were doing, at least when it came to this particular color request. I ended up just having my boyfriend bleach my hair and coloring it for me and the result was 10x better which is why I probably won't ever go to a salon in TC again. I just don't think Traverse City in general understands fantasy colors from my experience with it so, I give up! At home hair care it is!

I walked in off of the street today and was able to get in right away for a pedicure. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the young ladies name (I'm currently unable to speak), but she was great, very thorough. Competitively priced. I'll definitely go back. Very clean environment and attentive staff!

Spent about 2.5 hrs here to get hair and make up done for my brothers wedding bc I didn't want to stress about doing it myself. Lol well ended up having to anyway. Hair stylist was awful. Barely said two words to me. Showed here a picture of what I wanted - literally easy af and ended up having to do it myself anyway so pretty mad I paid for her to do a half ass job. Just easy beachy waves and a braid and a twist under the braid. We talked about making the curls tighter so they'd fall throughout the day. Okay great. Well curls didn't even last thru the appt with her and she sprayed so much hairspray on them they hard and crunchy. So not a good look. She seemed annoyed with me when I asked to switch the heavier side - bc she didn't have me facing a mirror the entire time I didn't notice until she had curled it (no braid in it this yet so easy fix. Yet somehow she's annoyed. Idk why she wouldn't ask that first like every other stylist on the planet.) whatever. At this point i just wanted to get out of this woman's chair she made me so uncomfortable and just wasn't pleasant. I couldn't really even see what she did when she showed me bc my hair is so dark and she was like "it looks good come sit over in this chair and they'll be with you to do your make up" okayyy. So keep in mind curls pretty flat at this point too, just a gross crunchy mess. So get make up done and this girl was insanely pleasant. She was so nice and my eyes looked great. My foundation tho was a hot mess. And ended up having to wipe the entirety off after leaving. Was going to try and blend it out but decided against it bc it was just going to keep getting patchy. You could literally see patches of my skin underneath so it looked like I applied it only in certain places. So anyway was dealing with a wedding crisis towards the end of my appt and said whatever (this is my bad) and paid and hurried out bc of said wedding crisis. Get out to my car and realize my hair is completely flat. There are no curls. So I go back in and am like can we fix this? (Like this was too expensive not to??) this hair stylist comes back out looking annoyed as hell. Sits me down in her chair. Says absolutely nothing again. Puts like 4 curls in and is like all set. I literally left trying not to cry bc at least for my make up I liked my eyes. Overall a stressful experience on a day I. We're no stress and ended up having to redo absolutely everything I spent money on here anyway. Would not recommend at all.

Personally this is more of a review on the people there as a whole compared to the stylist who was doing my hair. The owner and receptionist are awful to say the least. You know a salon is going down hill when they can't even teach their employees how to keep things professional I will never go back to salon moxie after the little red headed bitch receptionist wanted to stir up drama and then post it to her social media as if anyone gives a fuck what she really has to say. She also continued to spread lies to the whole salon about something she thought she knew which she was dead wrong about. She posted it to her social media AFTER I tried clearing it up with her. It's a shame bc they did a decent job on my hair the past 7 or 8 months but I mean most salons can do a good job on blondes, and in my opinion who would want to continue to go to a salon where their employees don't know respect or professional boundaries. Either way fuck that salon and the owner, she was completely unhelpful with the situation and told me that she would only deal with it if it pertained to my hair after her receptionist got the information she thought she was correct on after me being there and her looking up me and my boyfriend in their computer as we both got our hair done in the same salon. In my opinion the owner literally did nothing to help the situation when I brought it to her attention. Not to mention personally I think she has the most dead freaking hair I have ever seen in my life, and her extensions really are not covering up her hair that's so short and broken she has parts that are sticking straight up from her head. Honestly I don't think thats really good advertisement to your customers considering the first thing I asked my stylist when he said she was the owner was if he was the one doing her hair and he said god no I would like to include that the stylist who had been doing my hair was not the problem and he did a really good job and I definitely think he deserves a better salon then that one with all of his experience.

After over a year of fun with box hair dye and at-home haircuts my hair was so unbelievably damaged. I felt really unattractive! Lauren did a deep conditioning treatment with me, a gorgeous haircut and reccomended a fantastic hair oil. My hair has been transformed! (Also the salon is taking COVID precautions very seriously and I felt 100% safe during my appointment)
