Salon Mary So in Seattle, WA

Great skills. Decent price. Would go again. They have a nice backyard btw, do you don't get bored if the previous client runs late

I went to Mary's to get a bob cut and fortunately was able to squeeze me in for a 6pm appointment the same day. Getting to Mary's was a bit stressful because the street lights are sparse and the amount of trees/shrubs makes it almost pitch black after the sun goes down. Mary also doesn't have a sign in front of her house to signal people to turn inside, so even with GPS it's very easy to miss her house (the house is hidden behind a narrow driveway). Once you're at her house, there's no instructions to get to the basement. It's a gate at the left of the house featuring a steep descent. There's not an alternate path to get to her basement so people with specific physical impairments should probably not use her service. Also, if it's pitch black, it's very easy to fall. Once you manage to get to her basement, it's a very straightforward process. She tells you as you're scheduling the appointment that she's cash only and the amount ($60 for the haircut). She gave me a wash and went through my hair with care. She'll also turn on some videos on the tablet and have the heat on to keep you comfortable (this was on a cold day). It was very pleasant experience! We were the only ones in the room which is nice if you like that feel of exclusivity. Since this was a basic cut, I don't have any comments about how well it was done. It looked okay to me and she'll have recommendations for how to style your hair afterwards if you're interested. Also, Mary's family has a dog, so I'm not sure if people who have dog allergies would want to avoid the service. She does keep her dog out of the basement/salon room, though.

It's been a month since I got the hair straightening treatment from Mary and I'm still in love with the result! I have shoulder-length, thick, wavy Asian hair and I always had to iron my hair to make it look presentable and ironing has left my hair dry and lifeless. I decided to give this salon a try after a lot of research and now all I need to do after a shower is to let my hair dry naturally and it will be straight and smooth without any ironing! I'll definitely visit Mary again to touch up my roots.

Mary is awesome! A few days ago I gave myself a haircut at home and it was totally a mess. But Mary magically saves my hair!! with her wonderful hair cutting technique I love my new haircut and it even exceeds my expectation, it looks so well and sophiscated! Other than that, she manages the appointments very effectively, there is no rush during the haircut, like most of the comments mentioned :) She really loves her work and very good at it! The best haircutting experience I had in Seattle. Would recommend Mary's salon to everyone!!

Mary is wonderful! She was able to guide me through the process and knew exactly how to shape my hair based on my face frame. It is evident she's had many years of experience in her hands! Lovely sweet lady who works very hard and I feel comfortable having Mary as my hair stylist. I will say that this is a home business and not in a luxury salon if that is what you're expecting, however you'll be in great hands!
