waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to get in the chair. i selected "men's cut" when booking cause i'm a man and just wanted a trim, however i have long hair and the hairdresser clearly wasn't comfortable with the amount of hair i had. they were assuredly ready for mostly clippers. they then couldn't really answer my questions or help advise what to do with my hair, and in the end they ended up taking some liberties while cutting my hair, something i surely don't appreciate. so maybe have an option while booking for a guy with long hair? just a suggestion. and if your hairdresser isn't comfortable with the amount of hair someone has then maybe they could recommend someone else in the building better suited for it. the only good part was the beard trim,was awesome, but certainly never going back, that was awkward and uncomfortable, and two hours of my time wasted. (yes two hours, good thing they don't charge by the hour!) id go less than 1 star if i could

I've always had a good experience here, but I also really like my stylist. Salon Lofts leases out lofts to individual stylists, so your experience is going to vary widely based on who you are with. I followed my stylist to this location. The lofts are small-ish, but enough room for having your hair or nails done. Each stylist decorates their loft to their taste, so it's fun to walk through and peek at their different choices. There are a couple of restrooms down the hall and the back door opens directly into the parking garage. There is a ticket validation station just inside the back door, so you can usually park for free. I've always been able to get parking in the garage and it's well lit and not scary. The salon has free wi-fi, just ask your stylist for the password. In the winter, I like sitting under the dryer and looking at dog pictures on Instagram! Silly, yes, but warm and relaxing.

NICOLE HENRY- Hands down the WORST stylist I have ever been to. I walked in and introduced myself- she barely acknowledged me and didn't say a word. She was incredibly mopey the whole time and put in the bare minimum amount of effort into communicating with me and worse yet, my hair. She didn't care AT ALL. She put my hair under heat because she didn't want to be there and wanted me out ASAP. I even paid for an Olaplex treatment which I'm pretty sure she didn't even do, but I wouldn't know because she didn't communicate with me. She squirted some kind of liquid in at the crown of my head and let part of it run down my face; maybe that was the "olaplex treatment". She didn't even use ANY kind of conditioner or toner in my hair after highlighting it. While brushing through it, she even had the nerve to ask me "Is your hair always this tangly??" Wtf. She only covered the top part of my head and basically gaslighted me and tried to tell me that was what I asked for. It wasn't. My hair was splotchy and not blended well AT ALL. I texted her afterward and told her I wasn't happy with it or the way she treated me. She made plenty of excuses and told me what a bad day she was having and that she was just trying to make it through the day. I drove an hour for this. She told me she doesn't do refunds but offered to 'fix it'- uh no, there was no way I would ever let this girl touch my hair again. She even had the nerve to tell me how disrespectful I was to HER and that I was banned from the salon. Again, laughable because there is no way I'd ever go back under any circumstance. I should have listened to another review I had seen about her saying she reacheduled an appointment because she was "sick" just to let it slip she had really been getting ready for an upcoming vacation. My hair has NEVER been in worse shape after visiting Nicole. It is literally so dry and damaged and FALLING OUT like crazy. It is very hard to brush through. Nicole is a rude, disrespectful brat and sadly, not even interested in her job. It's hard to believe she has any good reviews. She should have her license revoked.

Well...I guess I had high expectations when I got here. There is at least a parking garage so if you go to the Salon Lofts, your parking is validated! The place is very clean and new. I ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes past my appointment time because the customer before me ran late so the employee I had an appointment with ran late, which I was trying to be understanding of. I got a Groupon for a balayage and the person who did my hair, which I will not mention her name, was not sure about the outcome of my balayage. I told her I wanted my end result to be a red brown, which she said she wasn't sure how it's going to turn out. Okay fair. Overall she is the professional. I already had a previous red balayage that faded to a brassy color. The only thing I was thinking about was that the last time I got my hair done at a different salon, the stylist was able to get me to the red color I wanted even with the brassy hair I came in with. I knew it wasn't impossible. She lifted my hair and then told me she would tone it after to help with any "orange" color that would show up. This I would be charged an extra $30. Again, I figured she's the professional so I should just go with what she says even though I had no clue what toning your hair meant. She was still in the process of working on someone else while my hair was lifting. The other customer got amazing blonde highlights and the stylist even asked her if she wanted her hair curled. It looked amazing! My wash and dry was slightly painful. She was rough on my hair with the pressure she was using. I did want my hair curled for the day, but she did not ask like she did the previous customer (who was new also) so I didn't say anything. I didn't feel comfortable enough to say anything because I didn't feel like I was in an environment where I could. I thought she was nice, but she wasn't for me. I'm not a professional but I guess my question is why couldn't she put in a red/brown color instead of just a toner? My end results were nowhere near what I wanted and I was not satisfied walking out. On the bright side my hair is not brassy anymore! It is a nice salon though.
