Salon Des Amis in Bloomington, MN

I purchased a groupon for a Brazilian blowout at salon des Amis. Casey was the one who did it it turned out really good but it faded after 3 weeks instead of lasting 3 months. I decided to go back to her for an ombré, I showed her a picture and she seemed very confident achieving the look I wanted. She bleached my hair twice and it turned orange so she put a toner on it and it took the orange away which made my hair darker than I wanted. I told her I wasn't happy at all we booked another appointment. I went back in and she bleached it two more times. This time it was even worse than the first time, my hair was completely damaged which I expected but the color was bright yellow orange. This time she decided she doesn't want to apply a toner saying it won't do anything and because she had another client 10 minutes after me. I put my hair in a bun cause I was embarrassed to leave the salon with my hair looking like that. She made me buy a shampoo that according to her it should take the orange color out. I shampooed 3 times that day and nothing happened. I called her the next day since I was in the area asked her if I can come so I can show her how horrible my hair looks she said she is not there and that she is too busy to fix my hair. That same day a friend of mine who is a hair stylist put a toner in my hair and it got rid of all the orange I had when she said it won't do anything. That's what toners are for!! I decided to text her and tell her exactly how I feel and how I regret choosing her for my hairstylist and all she kept saying is I am sorry you feel that way. I asked her for my money back since I am an un satisfied customer and she said nothing. I think her business is run very poorly and the way it's operated is horrible. The phone is never answered cause she doesn't have a receptionist and because her barber screens calls because the IRS is looking for him. That was the worst experience I have ever had and wish I chose wisely.

I bought a Groupon for a hair cut and conditioning treatment at this salon. It seemed to get pretty good reviews here so I thought I would be okay. (I am guessing that I needed to request Casey, which I unfortunately did not do.) First off, it was very hard to get an appointment time that worked. They just had a few random appointments. Like 7 pm on Saturday or 1 pm during the day. The lady who cut my hair was so busy talking about her life that she was really not paying attention to what she was doing. And she did what she wanted and not what I had requested. I am trying to grow my hair out and it had some layers in it. I asked her to just give a very little trim and blend in the layers a bit. It is absolutely one of the worst haircuts I have ever had. It is long in the back and shoulder length in the front (like a long mullet). Now I will have to cut it all to shoulder length to fix it and start all over with growing my hair, which makes me very, very sad. And she never did any conditioning treatment at all. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Shady business practices/greedy/manipulative owner (Casey) I had a Trubates coupon for a $150 Brazilian Blowout. This treatment takes a couple of hours so I was booked out a month or so to get in on a Saturday. That Thursday evening, a personal matter came up that needed to be attended to on Saturday, so I called during my lunch on Friday to reschedule the blowout (well within the normal 24-hour deadline typical for salon/doctor etc. reschedules). My phone call wasn't answered, but I left a message asking them to call me back. I never got a call back. I contacted Casey to reschedule and she said that I had "forfeited" the coupon (and my $150 dollars) by attempting a reschedule the first time. And since I was booked out in advance, my coupon was now expired, and Trubates can't help me either. So this $150 was totally gone, and for what? She then had the gall to act like she was offering me a great deal by saying "if you still come in, I'll give you 50% off for the same treatment" and mentioned how accommodating she was being. Which would bring me up to the full $300+ cost of treatment, not to mention THAT SAME DEAL is still on Trubates. I could just buy another certificate for $150. Deal...pshaw. Beware of ripoffs - this owner will do what she can to squeeze money out of her clients.
