Salon Avanti & Day Spa in Kenmore, NY

Upon looking at Alexis's Instagram I thought it would be perfect for me to come in and get a lighter balayage on my VIRGIN brunette hair. I asked for it to be curled lightly at the end and even showed her a picture of her own work that I would hoped look similar to mine. She mixed everything and put me in foils under a heated lamp for a LONG TIME while she sat in the break room on her phone. I told her my head was getting hot and itchy and she said just a few more minutes. After probably a half hour or more she started to take the foils out and I could see it was lightened way more than I wanted and was an ombré not a balayage. She then started to try to comb through it and couldn't even get it thru before clumps of literally bleached blonde hair were coming out of my previously virgin brunette hair. She then asked if it was okay if it was straightened instead of curled and I thought it was weird but now I know why, because it was so dead it was impossible to curl what was left. I paid $120 and tipped 20% even tho she destroyed my healthy hair. I got home and started to realize just how bad it was, my hair was GUMMY!! I called almost in tears, just wanting it to be fixed or at least my money back, come to find out the owner Tracy is Alexis's AUNT and she of course denied any wrong doing and I didn't get a refund or any compensation. Please save yourself the money and go somewhere else, the pictures on her instagram don't tell the whole story.

Today I had an appointment for full set of eyelash extensions with Bianca, to say I was displeased is an understatement. Unfortunately my eyes were still watering when I left so I didn't get a chance to take a good look at them before leaving. I have had my eyelashes done many of times, I should have known she was doing something wrong when my eyelids were glued shut. For future reference I will definitely do my due diligence before trying somewhere new. I do not recommend going to Bianca for eyelash extensions.

I am so glad to be back "home" with Tracey cutting my hair again. She is the only one who ever gets it right. I love this place and the family atmosphere. So warm and friendly, the perfect end to a hard day. And I always go home looking and feeling so much better.

I am not satisfied at all. Although it is a good salon, but the waxing department needs to improve. They have only 2 ladies to wax. One of them doesn't do everything, has only specific specialization and the other one is rarely available. I got my appointment fixed with the former. I have been waxing for past 9 years. Never have i got blood clots on my legs. It took me 2 hours closely to get out of that place. I was very upset. Thought of giving them another chance but i am scared to go back.

Nope! Wouldn't even get my dog groomed in this dump, let alone let my wife.
