03/01/2011-I went in to have one highlight placed on my level 5N brown hair- asked for a caramel- which is not blond or red- it is suppose to be a medium color just as caramel describes. I also said I do not want Chunky highlights, that I wanted it to look like natural streaks. Laurie bleached my hair and added a "toner" which I am assuming is the color she had to place back onto my now bleached hair. As she was in the process of blow-drying it, I could see BRIGHT copper-blond color appearing and immediately told her it looked too light! She told me I was just in "shock because I hadn't had highlights for a while." ( 10/2010 was last time) She told me to go home and see how I liked it and how others liked it. I am 50 years old and didn't need other opinions of how I feel in my own hair! When she placed the foils in my hair, she went on each side of my part and started at the top and worked toward my ear on each side. This resulted in seeing only the bleached color and none of my natural color through unless I lifted my hair. I called her the next morning to complain again about not being happy with my hair and the only remedy I was offered was to pay another $35.00 after paying $62.00 the day before ( she quoted me 52 and added $10.00 for the toner as I was writing her the check!!). I requested my money back for the highlight because I had to go pay to have it done correctly and she would not refund my money. I sure wasn't going to pay her another $35.00 to experiment on my hair!! So- moral of my mishap- BEWARE of getting your hair done at a "salon" that has NO accountability, no reception desk, no business phone and all are "independent" stylists and do their business by cell phone or email!
