Kyra has been moving around a bit, and she seems to have settled here at Ruff Ends. As a salon, this salon is really quite nice, airy and open, and seems to have all the amenities I need.
Mostly, I would just like to sing my praises of Kyra Rouser. Before I moved to Lawrence, I had had the same hair dresser since I was 8 years old (I was 22 when I moved to Lawrence). I was frightened off by two salons before I finally came to Kyra, a puffy mess of Latina hair, upset and scared as to who would touch my hair next.
I was not disappointed. Even though she didn't get my hair cut right the very first time (I have VERY difficult to cut, thick, wavy hair that does WEIRD things), she took the time to write down everything she could about my hair, and was sure to educate me on what it was that I was trying to describe was what I liked.
Having someone truly work with you on your hair is a liberating experience. She takes the time out to remember details about my life, and honestly, Kyra became one of the very first people I could call a friend in Lawrence.
She's phenomenal, and if she can't do it, she'll find someone who can. Her rates are truly competitive and she's all around an amazing person.
