RUBI Nails and Spa in Harrisonburg, VA

i don't leave reviews often at all but this place was so nice! it looked very clean inside, and the staff was very welcoming. Thalia did an amazing job with my nails- her attention to detail was spot on and she was super sweet! definitely coming back :)

I really wanted to love RUBI nails because of how nice and clean it was upon entering this nail salon! I got an acrylic fill with gel polish back in the beginning of September. Within a week, 2 of my nails completely fell off with no force and other nails were lifting. This is not typical for me as I take good care of my nails and I have never once had a nail fall off within a week of getting them done. I texted the salon and explained the situation and asked who my next appointment would be with because I wanted to try a different tech as I really liked their salon. They apologized and said the owner would do my nails the next time I came in. On the day of my appointment they texted me and said that since my original set was not done at their salon, I would need to have my set of nails removed and reapplied. I asked how much this would be and the total with removal was upwards of $70. I told them I did not have the money for that and decided to go to a different salon. I have since had the same set of nails (it is now the end of October) and I have had no issues with them falling off or lifting prematurely. I was extremely disappointed because I really wanted to love RUBI, but it seemed like they were just trying to make more money in the end.

Harrisonburg has a limited selection of nail salons, but this is one of the good ones! The reviews on here don't do this place justice at all. The place is spotless and very well decorated. The nail tech I dealt with had very good English so it was easy for her to understand the design I was explaining and even gave me advice on the layout and plan for my set. She fixed anything I wanted her to change and was very patient and bubbly even when she had to fix the nail I messed up

Went to get my nails done with my friend for the first time since having my child (10 weeks postpartum) and I wanted a slate blue and thought that's what I picked out but when they were putting it on, it looked more bright blue. I tried to address it twice during the first coat but was told it was the correct number to color. I hoped that it would look more slate blue as it continued but it just continued to look worse. So I asked them to remove it, which they did. They were booked understandably and could not fit me in for a new color but did charge me fully for what turned out to be a waste of time for me. So I left with no nail polish on and paying them full price leaving me frustrated. Cue hormonal tears and rage. My husband called cuz I was a mess when I got home and they told him I had just changed my mind on what color I wanted. My friend who was with me can attest it was indeed not slate blue but a trashy bright blue. Only positive note is it is very COVID friendly.

I've been to many nail salons over the years- including many in Los Angeles- and I have to say this one is the best one I've been to. It's very cute inside and also very clean. I got a gel manicure and pedicure today with my mom and we are beyond pleased with the service. Michael was my technician and he did a great job and was very polite the whole time. My nails and toes look fabulous and I can't wait until my next appointment. They take their time and make sure everything is perfect. Thank you!
