Purple Door Pet Salon in Rolla, MO

I don't normally write YELP reviews on places I visit or services I receive, however I feel like this should be an acceptation. I called and asked for an appointment the next day for my Goldendoodle puppy, due to her (the person that helped me, I cannot remember her name, I believe it to be the owner. ) being in Rolla and having a vet appointment the same day. I did not think that I would be able to get an appointment due to it being so last minute.

However she stated she would make it work and then told me to bring my puppy in right after the appointment. I was very nervous about having my puppy groomed due to it being my puppies and I first time at a groomers, and not being sure how good she would look after the fact.

I showed up after the vet appointment and met with her, very friendly staff and they recommenced me how short I should get her hair, as it being my first time, I was not sure what would look the best so I asked for their professional opinion. I left my puppy with her and left, returning a bit later.

When I returned at 5 P.M., which is closing time for the store, she told me that it would be around 6:30 pm, due to it taking a little longer than expected. She was still very nice when I spoke to her, even though she was staying after due to me trying to schedule an appointment last minute. So I left and returned a short time later.

I arrived at the store at 6:30 P.M. and seen she was still cutting my puppies hair, I did not want to enter the store and cause my puppy to get excited and make her job worse, so I sat in my car and watched. Even though my puppy was being very puppy like, she never got frustrated with my puppy.

When she appeared to be done, I went and got my puppy. Even though she was an hour and a half after hours due to my last minute planning, she was very nice and professional.

I will defiantly be returning to her and would recommend her to anyone that is skeptical on which groomer they should pick for their puppy or older dog.  

The best price and experience I could ask for!

I was pleased with what work they did do with my Husky but when I called to make the appointment I told the lady I would be getting my Husky sedated as no other groomer had been able to work with him and he was pretty matted in the stomach area. I was quoted a price of 48.00 for bathing him, brushing him out, trimming him, cleaning his ear and doing his nails and it was supposed to take about 3 hours. She had stated she was hoping to get the brushing done while he was more under the sedation and do the rest after. However,  the had him all of 35 minutes after which she said he had nipped her, (and yes I said nipped- he lets you know if he doesn't like something, but he does not "bite" to try to hurt you, it's normally just by accident if he even touches you as he normally just nips your direction so you'll stop but he's not attacking anyone by any means) she did brush out his belling area, which was a great help for me, but they did none of the other services and then charged me the original quoted amount for all the services they never did. We informed her that it is the brushing that he does not tolerate well and that he does not have any issue with bathing, nails, etc, but they still did not complete the services. I do not like giving my dog sedation, something that is not good for him to begin with, and then not having everything done that was supposed to be done. Just to be clear- I definitely do understand their concern, however, I still do not feel I should have been charged for services not rendered.

I've known Sarah for years and have followed her around Rolla. I live in St. Louis now and STILL come to Rolla to have my pup groomed by her. I actually had the pleasure of working beside her when I was in college, and it's a big reason why she's the only one I trust with my big boy. She is a phenomenal groomer and has so much patience for her customers. She would NEVER harm a dog, and is awesome with all breeds and all sizes. Her location has an open floor which is awesome because it allows customers to see her work and earn her trust. My pup LOVES her and it's nice to be able to trust he will be taken care of. This is a family owned business and her husband and daughter are also highly involved, so expect to see them around! I wish I could bring her with me to St. Louis, but instead I'll just keep recommending her to all my friends and convince everyone else in Rolla why Sarah is literally the best Groomer.
