PROSE Nails - Wyckoff in Wyckoff, NJ

I wish I loved this place but it was the worst pedicure experience of my life. The person doing my pedicure dry exfoliated my feet, most uncomfortable pain. Felt like I was being grated by a cheese grater. During the discomfort the owner/manager asked me multiple times about a membership and if I wanted to add on any "treats" I said from making my appointment, to coming in, and I during my appointment no. Then I had to hear her talking to everyone else about why a membership makes the most sense and saves money. Please stay away from this place. Terrible.

The membership program is a scam. I really wanted to like this salon. I did not receive any sort of massage on my first visit and the tech was rude but after talking to the owner, I gave it another shot being told it was skipped by mistake. She promised me I would have a different tech for my next visit. But that wasn't the case when I arrived. I politely tried to talk to the woman at the front desk without making a scene but she insisted that I could not switch with my friend who I came with. I canceled my membership that day but received a phone call from the owner. She had said it was her fault I was booked with the same tech and not the front desk, which made it worse, as she was the one that specifically promised a different tech next time. I still went back one last time when I was then told my points expire 30 days from the time I requested a cancellation, even though I was charged again 3 weeks after that cancelation was made. Which does not make sense. I then requested a copy of my contract and was told they could not email one as they are away from the computer, when I asked for screen shots text to me I was told the system does not allow it. I won't be going back, lol. I can not believe I gave this place 3 times to make it right and they blew it every time! I really wanted to like this place!

I'm so disappointed in this salon! Of course on your first visit they pull out all the bells and whistles to give you an amazing experience. After that, don't expect much. There are only 2 experienced nail technicians there and to book an appointment with them is impossible. If you can't get an appointment with them you get stuck with technicians that file your nails cooked, glue their gloves to your fingers, can't use the equipment and can't even tell if you have gel Polish on. If they are short of help (which happens often) they will cancel on you and then blame you for not being available another time. If you have an event coming, don't chance it! Book another nail salon. The owner has NO customer or business skills! She actually blames the customer for the Polish not being correct and for canceling appointments. Stay away!

I never write reviews....but I felt like I need to in this case. I had a terrible experience at this salon. This salon will not let you keep your "points" if you cancel your subscription, even if you have a certain time left to use them. They will also purposefully do not tell you this. A subscription is also not cheap. The actual nail service is alright, but the woman doing my nails was super rude and would not let me pick my own nail polish color myself. Will not be going back.

I've been a member here since before they actually opened in 2021. The employees are super sweet and the owner is just a doll.
